Gerrard is coming back to top form
he is starting to score, if not then assist again
His injury kept him back but now slowly he's gonna succeed on the come back

Gerrard has had his day playing up top. He needs to drop back to CM/CAM then plop Kuyt up with Torres and play som1 else on the Wing. Gerrard has been useless the whole season up there. The second we dropped him to CM against Sunderland we played our best footy all season long. Why is rafa so blind! if your gona let 1 of the CM's go forward just Move Gerrard back there for Lucas so he can actually pass the ball around and get on the ball for that matter.

A captain's performance today -

In a team he has carried always - we can afford him those down days too, when he needed to be carried, because like us all he too is passionate about winning with LFC and frustrated by what is happening, for all those downers there are far too many highs for us to keep believing in him and what he means to our club - lest we forget !

whats the point of keeping him for another season and losing say 30million. I could understand if we didnt need the money. We could sell gerrard babbel riera insua kuyt lucas. That wud get us 50million.

Come on Gerrard is the symbol of Liverpool - one of the greats of World Football and the best thing about him is he is from Liverpool - we've already sold out to overseas owners no way should we sell our captain , not for all the tea in china mate

Not that I agree with selling him for one second, but, what then would you have us do? The moral of the team went down the crapper when Rafa sold Alonso. It would be even far lower than that if he sold Gerrard.

And then the problem of lack of true quality in the squad is compounded by selling one of our only World Class talents. If you are bringing in 50million with those sales, where are you going to go to find three World Class players, for what, unfortunately these days, is not really all that much money?

Its not really a game of Champ Manager though- to sell 4 starters in one season would have to feck up the morale of the squad- we couldnt even buy one player to replace gerrard with 50 million cause we prob wont have champions league football !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a 50 million pound player isnt interested in the europa league ! nor a team without gerrard!

talk of selling him is ridiculous. i hate that we have become/ or are becoming a selling club, its the opposite of what we want.

he's the one player we should be lookin to keep at all costs....bad season or not, he could bounce back like alonso did.

What a strange post. Because I didn't agree with your assertion that bringing Torres off doesn't necessarily make it less likely that we will score a goal (it wasn't personal that I disagreed, you were simply talking utter nonsense and for want of something better to do I decided to point it out) you think I'm bringing the forum into the doldrums.

I barely post these days to tell the truth, if that's what you mean then I'm flattered. I suspect though that the reasons which I can't be bothered are similar to the reasons many others have chucked it in.

Countless groundhog debates with numpties who will deny the sky is blue until their face turns the same colour eventually gets tedious, even for me.

I do agree with you on one thing, the thread is ridiculous. Gerrard has been by his standards very poor this season, and he's still been one of if not the best player on view in most matches. If we didn't have him we'd be even more fecked than we are.

Incidently, like Torres, even if he isn't playing that well we still have considerably more chance of scoring a goal when he is on the pitch. It's a bit like Michael Jordan used to be at Basketball I should think, although I must confess I know very little about the game, far too sizeist for my taste.

Gerrard's form IS alarming but as mick has said even if he's at 50% he is still far better than Lucas. But what's more alarming is his attitude on the field... IMO, we're lacking a bit of leadership and inspiration on the pitch nowadays... makes me wonder whether the key players, Gerrard, Torres and Carra are having abit of a rebellion against Rafa.
