We've finished 4th - But the cl qualifiers are hard

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

After tonights game liverpool finish fourth whatever happens saturday (it would be great if we won though).

Into the champs league qualifiers we go...
I think its a hard task to qualify..there are some really good teams in the qualifiers...i dont want LFC to have the same faith as Newcastle this season.

Anybofdy else think it will be hard for liverpool to qualify....it all depends on who we draw I suppose.

:)

Southhamton did us a big favour there, but I'd like us to win on Saturday and really shove the Geordies nose in it.

Newcastle should have beat Partizan Belgrade, I think we will probably get a team of similar quality to them in our qualifier and we shouldn't have too many problems.

Yeh true, but you don't often see the bigger clubs pair up in qualifying.

The draw will all be seeded so we will avoid the big name teams.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.

yeh exactly. But we won't be seeded that highly so could still get a tough opponent like Club Brugge or something maybe.

yeh probs Dr.
Anyway, it's nice to be talking abot the Cl, rather than who'll we be facing in the UEFA Cup. but it shouldn't overshadow what a poor season we've had, despite the injuries etc.

Stop worrying about the qualifiers now! This is a great day!
We are into the champions league and in a couple of days time we will have a massive transfer kitty to spend during the summer. And, Michael Owen is staying....

A great day? *coughs*

A good day mate. MASSIVE DIFFERENCE.

"Great" was winning the cups, stuffing the blueshite and frustratin the mancs.

I'd like to be able to say well done to the lads but i feel they have underperformed this season even with the injuries etc.

Lets hope these last 3 or 4 games are a sign of things to come next season. Clean sheets, clever football and hard working team like attitude thats been missing for a season or two.

COMMON REDS!!!

We will be great next season Cisse, Owen and Baros to choose for forwards. Stevie driving midfield. Kewell providing and back to his best and a solid defence. :) :) :)

Huge relief, and exactly what we needed to achieve to allow us to try and get us back on track next year.

Give GH another summer of spending and another season to try and justify the faith we had in him 3 years ago. He knows he'll live or die on the quality of his next batch of recruits and his ability to get them playing, so fingers crossed he doesn't balls it up. The "too many injuries" argument won't wash now.
