As much as City and Spurs have/are playing well. The fixtures they have remaining surely will result in dropped points. Our key objective is to keep the confidence up and kill off the games we have early on.

I am sure, to be more specific 100% sure that our rivals for the 4th place will lose valuable points.Spurs will probably get 6 to 8 or 9 points top, which is not our treat.City will maybu get 12+ points, but no more than 15.Villa shouldnt get more than 10 points as well... 12 top lets say.So thers no question about them loosing points, BUT what scares me the most is the fact that we could only afford one draw, which even may be alot... If we win the upcoming two, we will be half way on the fourth position... I think that we are strong enough to at least draw with Chelsea at home. But at least 5 wins in 6 games seems too much for us knowing the season we've had this year.

I just don't understand why we get so down when we loose to Manure away and then feel on top of the world when we beat the worst away team in the league besides Hull and Burnley.

Manure had great form and on top of the league and we have never had good form all season. After that loss we had no chance ending 4th and it was doom an gloom. Then we beat an awful away team in Sunderland and 4th is within reach...

Next game will say much more about where we are and will be at the end of the season. A tough away fixture against a team which only lost twice at home all season and keeps it tight.

Will it be another "1 shot on goal game" where we play abysmal and negative or will we show we deserve 4th and win.

Losing away vs a team that hasn't lost all season at their place or winning vs a team at home that has 1 away win all season says much less.

is true.
Brum away is a very big game for us now. Its our away form that has let us down so much this season, and that game could be the hardest fixture we face, considering the chelsea game is at home, and we usually raise our game for them.

As I said if we win the next two (especialy this next one) we will be more than half way there, and as you said, away with Birmingham will show how much we deserve 4th place.

indeed

anything from the manc game would have been a bonus

all these games are worth the same 3 points, so  the biggest disapointments this season have been gimmes such as portsmouth + wigan away where we simply didn't show up  :(

I know the aspect of the fact that is is always tough to loose vs that lot, but now I am talking about the race for 4th and the importance of different games.

Anything taken from the Manure game would had been a bonus and likewise, anything but a win vs lowly Sunderland would had been a disaster. Games like vs brum away are the real deciders and the real test if we'll make it.

For me the next game will decide it all. If we win at Birmingham then 4th is ours.

If he picks yesterdays XI then we have a real chance of doing so.. if he reverts back to lucas then Birmingham will expose that weak centre, bully, outclass and over run midfield, and inflict our 17th loss with him in there.

Any other manager you can be certain would pretty much follow logic and retain a winning team thats performed well... but as rafa overthinks and over complicates then i see him reverting to type.. in will come lucas, so back to the toothless midfield ...defeat, end of 4th place challenge.

If he reverts to "containing" and "controlling" football then we are fu'cked.
Hopefully he has seen that the portsmouth and sunderland games were how we can play when we are allowed to be creative
Somehow I dont think he will though...

I fear that we will be out the top four. Like a lot of people on hear we are reliant on other teams failing. I still live in hope:;):

OK so Villa have done their usual and bottled it leaving us, Man City and Spurs to fight it out for 4th spot.

I am not kidding myself that we will win every game until the end of the season but, given Spurs' run in I can't see them getting anymore than 2 points from their next 4 games, Man City to get 8 points from their next 4 (before they hit a very difficult patch) and we'll get 10 points!

That would see us on 64 points, Spurs on 60 points and Man City on 61 points.

Both Spurs and Man City have to play the top 3 and each other before the end of the season. OK, we have Chelsea at home but I am massively encouraged by yesterday's result/performance and on studying/comparing Spurs and Man City's run in. :)

Not sure what to make of this week in terms of our chances of 4th.

Spurs' games against Man Utd and Arsenal will be made easier given their respective injury issues following the mid week games and we've lost Aquaman for the rest of the season by the looks of things.

???
