Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Insua looks a real prospect. He's strong, comfortable on the ball and has decent positional awareness. Think Aurelio will get his place back when fit though.

It's a good point.  I liked the look of Insua yesterday and I thought he did well at Blackburn as well.  But, I can't help but recall the praise heaped on Plessis last spring for his fantastic game at the Emirates yet I doubt many would want him near the first team now.  Different player, different position and different situation, no question, but the moral of the story is let's not get too carried away bigging up Insua just yet.  I'd prefer to let him settle in and see if he's got what it takes to make the position his own.

Is it just one good game though? He played well in his previous appearance, shame he (apparently) isn't registered for the CL or Dossena might not have wormed his way back in for a game or two

Insua came to the club in January of 2006. And since he is U21, and will have been at the club for 2 years as of January, that should make him elligible for the unlimited B list of players for the CL roster.  I don't see why he shouldn't be registered for the knockout stages.

local defensive coach for my American football team has a saying, " I don't fall in love with young players, they always end up breaking your heart"

he sounds like a pedo

That was comedy genius and brought tears to my eyes!

he´s not decent, he´s consistent and good.
He can make good crosses, can Dossena? Can Arbeloa? No.

Actually Dossenna is an excellent crosser of the ball, but unfortunately he can't defend.

Dossena is only good eating pies.

And getting skinned.

and being sh.it

Argentinean starlet Emiliano Insua is one of the brightest hopes among Liverpool's reserve ranks.

The left-back has impressed during a handful of first-team appearances since making his debut against Portsmouth on April 28, 2007.

He was also a key man as Gary Ablett's second string clinched the national title in 2007-08.

Insua started out at Boca Juniors, though never played a first-team game at La Bombonera.

Noted for his attacking prowess, he is a regular for Argentina Under-20s and helped them win the 2007 FIFA World Cup.

we didnt ask 4 his life story m8 lol

He played very well, but it is far too early, and there was far too little to go on to be suggesting he is better than Aurelio.

Well i've seen him a few times now lando and i think he's got the makings of a good left back , not the best in the world ,but a good solid alround game . One thing he does have over Aurelio is he's fit.

Yeh he did have a good game today as well, caught ball watching in the first 2 minutes (when Agger lost the ball that ended up bolton almost scoring), misplaced 2 passes, but other than that defencively he was good and put in some good passes and bombed forward. Also, had a good chance on goal.
