Good confident performance for him again . Keep it up and he'll be our first choice . He overlaps for than aurelio and his dribbling is not bad , if only he had dossena's crossing and only that :D

Would it be going overboard to perhaps say he should be the 1stc choice already? OK his crossing isnt as good as Dossenas but then again Dossenas crossing isnt THAT good either. Insua is overall a much more balanced player than Dossena for whom passing seems to be his only decent quality.

Also, had a good chance on goal.

when did bolton score?

A second accomplished game on the trot.  I like his confidence on the ball, showing some really nices touches in traffic to wrong-foot defenders and keep possession.  He's simple and direct and he's not afraid to have a pop if the ball falls to him just right, as we saw today.  It's very encouraging stuff from the youngster.

Interesting that Dossena didn't make the bench today.  Last week he was said to be under the weather.  Is that still the case or has Rafa decided to sell him in January and has opted to wrap him in cotton wool until then?

Hopefully the latter although with Aurelios injury track record I would rather keep Dossena as backup for Insua and then sell him in the summer.

Just wondering...if Insua (who did not really set the reserves on fire) can perform so well, how many of the other reserve team players could do a better job than some of the 1st team personnel ?

insua has been a consistent quality performer for the reserves and i reckon he should have had a run of games long ago, hes better then dossena and not far off auerillo, but the biggest plus is hes only 19, we should make he a regular now so he can develope his game and become one of the best left backs around whitch i feel he can do

this also goes for the likes of el zahr, nemeth, pacheco, lucas, babel, bruna, san jose, darby, spearing, ngog and plesis if we want to get the best out of them they need more then just reserve football we need to involve them as much as possible because they all have the talent to become top first team players
