Balance is what we have with Riera in the team. We can stretch teams because we have a legitimate winger in our team.

Riera and Insua seem to get along well too.

Keep it up!!

when we first signed him we looked a lot more balanced on the pitch with a genuine left winger out there, hopefully if we can get everyone back from injury and play a full strength side we can get that CL spot and win the Wafer cup

Stevie Heighway on the wing

With Kuyt in the middle supported by quilani, Degen on the right (not so sure about him but got forward well) with Carragher supporting and Rierra on the left we have got some width back.
Benny not there means not coming inside as much. And no Gerrard means the ball going to other players. No Torres means less hoof ball.
Rafa will not like this formation or style but hes stuck with it for now
Thank fu'ck!

great to see him back and totally transformed the side last night. not only with his natural width but also with his ability to retain position in tight areas.

will hopefully give the manager a selection headache when yossi comes back.

He provided great width, he retained possession well, he had a few good strikes at goal from distance, he almost grabbed a goal with a powerful and brave header and he provided an absolutely sublime ball into the box that we really should have scored from (following on from a corner).  He faded at the end due to a lack of match fitness but he was a standout performer for me yesterday.  If only we could get him to not switch off when he's supposed to be tracking back sometimes...

Here's hoping he can stay fit and maintain such a level.

Very pleased top have him back in the team. Quite a few fans dont rate him, but has genuine talent and skill something a lot our squad do not have. He provides width, a good ball into the box and has a goal threat from range and headers. He also is a very good decision maker, he rarely makes the wrong pass and looks to keep the ball on the ground whenever its possible. Deffo our best option on the left wing in my opinion.

It took me back to last season having him back in the team.He is the best winger we have had over the past 5 or so years.Gives us a total different dimension and very much welcomed addition, It's like having a new player.

With Riera and Maxi surely we will see more goals coming in the next few weeks, especially when Torres and Gerrard get back.
