I hope Rafa will get more to spend this time (if this is to be believed). Otherwise would anyone consider taking 2 of their players. Toure and a part deal for Bojan. Id be happy with that. Then again that sounds like im dreaming.

Either way it does not make for good reading,unless Mascherano is replaced with an equally adept midfielder, then the thought of Scott Parker in our midfield might not be so hysterically funny ,and the exodus of top players will only serve as the brightest beacon to the vultures circling Anfield ,who covet our biggest assets .

I also have a feeling Riera will be seeking a move ,the signs are all there ,afterall it doesn't take a genius to detect a case of restless feet ,and I think his will be following Mascherano's out of Anfield ,

I hope Im wrong in that prediction but I have an uneasy feeling regarding our fleet footed winger ...

An there lies the crux Red , Replacing a player with the same class an quality of Javier in the position that he is best in, not many around as far as i can see , People can mention they would be happy with Toure but cant some see what Barca are doing they want 2 world class players in that position, Anc, South Americas cup , cover of the same ability, There is not a chance in he.ll that if we got near 30 million for Javier it would be used on a world class replacement , As you say we could be looking Parker :;):

At this point I could care less if he goes honestly, I think Lucas can do Masch's job good enough and with time can be a more effective two way player. I'm actually starting to believe in Lucas, I think he can be a very good player for us for years to come. Don't get me wrong though we need someone better than Lucas if Masch goes. Back to Masch, he has been annoying me all season long and seems like he could be a problem off the pitch, in training etc etc. His attitude just isn't right for me atm, he should just shut up and play until he gets sold.

Don't know if that has been posted already so sorry....

Liverpool are taking the attitude that it is better to just ignore false stories as opposed to constantly putting out denials.

The latest false story is from the Sunday Express that Javier Mascherano has agreed personal terms with Barcelona.

This story is a complete fabrication with absolutely no basis in truth, in fact a search of the Spanish media including Barcelona based players cannot substantiate this story whatsoever.

The best they have been able to do is simply republish the article.

If there was one ounce of fact to this story it is inconceivable that the Sunday Express would get wind of it and not any Spanish newspaper.

For now Liverpool fans can sleep peacefully, Mascherano has not signed anything with Barcelona.

The ECHO said that too. Barca have presidential elections in the summer apparently, so until then nothing looks likely to be decided.

macheranos wife. He signed a contract just last year so if they want him they will have to wait till the summer and will have to buy on our terms. At least that Kia snake can't weasel any move for him where he goes whenever he wants.
