What can this lad for do for 1.5m that the likes of Lindfield, Pacheco or Brower couldn't have done? ???

Tell you what, I've always rated N'Gog as a good prospect. He's shown flashes of real quality in many of the appearances he's made for us. I'd have him on the bench over Voronin anyday of the week.

he isn't second choice though, kuyt is, and will continue to be so if torres gets an injury.

how can ngog be second choice when he's been on the bench once all season in the league?

If it becomes minus another one, what does that make it?

Well based purely on his goal last night mate he's probably got a fraction more ability than I gave him credit for. It was a footballers first touch and turn, whereas previously to me he has looked absolutely clueless.

Despite it appearing that I was probably being overly harsh on him, the fact that after 300 games of Rafa in charge of the club he is our second choice striker though is an absolute disgrace. In the good Liverpool squads, he wouldn't have been fourth choice never mind second.

The blanket throwers can big him up all they like, and there is the possibility that one day he'll make a player, but we are approaching a calendar year where he has been next in line behind Torres. Is there another team in the top ten of the Premiership where he would be second choice? I don't think so, and in the top six there is only us he'd get a game at all.

That's a bit harsh bigmick... I actually think Ngog has potential. The goals I've seen him score mostly are what you would call a striker's goals, intelligent placing without emphasising too much on power...

that's basically kack though isn't it?  he's not 2nd choice striker at all - he's 3rd or 4th

Last night is the first game I've watched Ngog play in that I've thought he might actually make a half decent player.  Not for his goal though (which was well taken), but his touch throughout was generally good, his movement was good, he was physical when he needed to be and his hold up play was decent when at times he was completely isolated.  He made mistakes too of course, his awareness of team mates and his link play needs to improve.  But he knows how to take a goal, we've seen that before, the other question (like with Nemeth) is whether he can combine his goal poaching talent with consistent all round play that is of premier league standard.  Up until now I've said no way.  After last night I'd say still has a long way to go, but just maybe.
