why mate ? only inury time left - no need for torres to come on . rest him fully any chance we can

I don't like the concept of trying to fend off a team for a win, basically letting them control the ball from the substitution on.  It's not so bad against a lesser team like Leeds but it has cost us a few times in the prem and we ended up with draws at times.

so would you of prefered voronin to come on then ?!?

He only started last season round about half way through mate, unfortunately I wasn't around for Middlesboro away :D

well that was a tough round, happy to get through it without the big guns needing time
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Just an attacker, whoever really doesn't matter now though we won so eh. Happy with the win and happy to go to the fourth round.

Just saying I don't like when we do that sometimes Rafa does it even earlier than that and it's like conceding that we won't score again so if you can score you're gonna get a draw at least.

How did everyone do that isn't the usual first teamer anyway?  I kinda like the greek with Carra more than Skrtel from the little amount of time I saw.

I think tonight has put to bed the belief held by some fans that Spearing would be a better starting option than Lucas.

Well we won. My observations based on the last half hour. Good goal from Egg Nog, lovely first touch. babel looked decent, as did Riera. the defence did alright, Spearing didn't particularly shine, and Mash was lucky to get away with the elbow on the back of lads head (I think it was accidental, but in a league match away he'd have walked IMHO). Dossena was Dossena, and overall a win is a win is a win.

I think Rafa did the right thing by picking a very sensible team and not getting overly ambitious with a team full of kids. This may end up being our best chance of a trophy (NOT SAYING IT IS, JUST SAYING YOU NEVER KNOW IT MAY END UP BEING SO) so there's little point in not taking it seriously.

Indeed, from what I saw he looked bad just like he didn't belong and I actually like the lad so it was disappointing to see that.
