Given the hiding Leeds gave Chelsea, I’m expecting a loss here.

They’ll be up for this and at our throats from the off.  We’ll probably be too busy passing sideways and backwards to do anything about it.

Hope I’m wrong.

I remember those days Yakka, I've hated Leeds for 60+ years. We have to win. I don't care the score but like against Everton and United, we need to get the 3 points.
Man City are a wannabe rival compared to these.

I hope we just show some spirit and take some calculated risks rather than the turgid tip-tap- 80% possession with 90 % of that being passed between our CB.

Arsenal lost to Villa and may well do their annual implosion in the next few weeks - who knows - we win and we are 8 points off top  :eyebrow (no way we win but lets get top 4 for goodness sake)

My team would be:

                  Alli

Gomez    Konate   VVD  Kerkez

     Dom  Grav   Jones

     Chiesa   Wirtz   Ekitike

Yeah I'd be surprised if we win, my guess Leeds will dominate first half and take lead. 2nd half we may equalise but Leeds will score another and take 3 points.

Will see I guess......

Rivalry aside we need to win this. They are predicted and favorites to win, how many times has a promoted side been favorites to beat the reigning champions? They have been playing a 5 3 2 so very defensive but playing at home after good performances against City and Chelsea they may be encouraged to play more attacking football. I think we will win today and surprise those that said we’d lose.

Looking at the lineup, I don't see enough steel in that starting eleven. And another thing, look at the city and bitters results today. Against sides we were absolutely dogshyte against. Makes those results look even worse than they were

Is the loss of Johnny Heitinga the biggest problem !! Very annoying to see Pep Lijnders at City  :censored:
We really do need to start playing like a team. Slot is clearly under pressure. Obviously a convincing win tonight would do him and the team the world of good.

Liverpool team news - Salah benched again!

Liverpool: Alisson, Bradley, Van Dijk, Konate, Kerkez, Szoboszlai, Jones, Gravenberch, Wirtz, Ekitike, Gakpo.

Subs: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Endo, Isak, Mac Allister, Salah, Chiesa, Robertson, Ngumoha.

Only one I disagre with is Gakpo- Chiesa for me all day long at the moment

We aren't giving much away which is good but need to be a bit more unpredictable up front.

We weren't terrible in that first half I guess but still toothless up front, too slow and too predictable, which leaves the door open for a sucker punch.

What we are missing are moments of brilliance from any one of our players. Last year we had a lot of matches we won by a great goal from someone. Our go to for the last few years has been Salah and he is not the same player and no one really has stepped up yet.

Since PSV we have been much tighter at the back, I hope we can keep a clean sheet.
