Lucas is a lad for the future IMHO. He would definitely improve

i reckon he has a lot of balls - unlike some players (babel, riera, keane) he comes off having always put in a full shift of work

whether or not he will ever be good enough to step into first team shoes is debatable

yeah I can't fault him for that if anything he sometimes gets too stuck in. he just needs to be a bit tougher and read the game better, hopefully he is a work in progress and will turn into a gem like Kuyt. he does need to improve a hell of a lot though, I'm not a fan at the moment but then I wasn't a fan of Kuyt either until the second half of last season.

I do not understand why we don't give our players a chance. When you are less involved it takes even longer to adapt. Squad players at united have been there years but it is only over the last few years that they have made a difference.

I remember when he came he was labelled as an attacking player, and there were links everywhere with these amazing goals he had scored for Gremio. Maybe as his confidence improves we might start to see some of that, I'd love it because as someone said..his attitude is spot on.

He´s a good lad Lucas, I was sceptical for quite a while but he game good towards the end of last season. He has to maintain the progress and I think he´ll only improve playing regularly alongside Masher.

One reason for his enthusiasm could be knowing Xabi is out, I dont know.

Just dont grow your hair again son and we´ll get on just fine.

he has to get a chance, he won't let us down. If someone comes in over him it will affect his confidence big time. Give his chace or risk losing him in the future. World cup year and all, he needs a good one

This may sound crazy but I would rather see him given a chance than bring in someone who has not only have to adjust to the dynamics of the team but also and possibly settle into a new league in which most cases take a season or two unless you're Torres. Lucas has been in and around the first team for a couple of seasons now and has already been used as a 'filler' for Masch/Alonso/Gerrard when they've been injured.

At least the team would stay as settled as possible if this becomes the case. I'm just concerned that even if you bring in a boss player from another league or whatever, the balance will be disrupted. Can't see this being the case if Mr Leiva is given his chance with either Plessis or Spearing used as his replacement on the bench. Balance.

i dont think Lucas is a bad player, he is just not a good liverpool player....yet.

what you must understand is that we are a team that we are a team thats changing the way we play, Lucas is from the new way, right now it looks like he dont fit into the team but all of a suden he clicks, this is more like them team coing to him that him going to them, Rafa set out team out to play a way he llike and buys players he feels fits in with that way.

what i feel about this is that it dont work, too often we tried to play the new Rafa way and gone 0-1 down and had to go back to the old way to pull the game back.

Sort of a microcosm of the way last season played out.  We only really opened things up and started scoring for fun when we were almost dead and dusted.

As far as Lucas is concerned, I've seen flashes that I like and a little too much of things I don't like about his game.  His lack of pace means he needs to read things better to be effective.  IMO the only way that will happen is for him to keep getting games and experience.  I do think he has it in him to become a decent Liverpool player.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Spot on mate , the best thing however is that he's still young and has time to improve.
