In all seriousness, Brazilian clubs have fe.ck all money, it won't be worth doing a deal with these.  Even if Lucas is bollox.

i would absolutely love it if Lucas fcked off back to Brazil... i always thought he would be moving after that interview last season where he said he'd want to be playing regularly this season with it being a world cup year and all... said that if it wasnt at Liverpool then he'd be looking to move elsewhere... if we can get 5mill or so for him then it would be good business... bring in Parker or Vieira or anyone with league experience instead with the money we get...

Ace I really dont think he is that bad of a player, he has become a bit of a scapegoat for the team when they dont to well and I think there is a good player in him and we would be foolish to get rid of him

i think hes a terrible player... I dont think hes any good...
the guy is so bad that people think he had a great game when he goes 90mins without losing the ball umpteen times and without making a mistake that costs us the game...

He isnt a player who could be relied on to bring the ball out from the back, him and Mascherano would ALWAYS struggle against a team with any sort of quality because neither of them can dictate the tempo from the middle..
defensively hes average at best, prone to making big mistakes.
on the attacking end the best he offers is his runs into opposition areas and getting on the end of crosses, and even that he doesnt do anywhere near enough for it to be considered a major assett to his game... he misses way too many passes, he doesnt look comfortable on the ball unless given all the time and space in the world, doesnt have any particular strengths to his game for us to say hes outstanding at this or that...

quite simply i dont see him becoming much better than he is now, and what he is now to me is a player not good enough to be playing for us... not even as backup... we might get away with it because of the quality we have around him.. because we play 2 holding midfielders and we have players like Kuyt working their socks off to cover for teammates, but all in all i dont think he has it in him to be a significant member in our squad...

I have not yet fully made an opinion about if Lucas is going to make it big. But one thing I can say:

If he doesn't stop playing it ultrasafe making 1000 sideway passes each game taking 0 risks and play at a very slow tempo he will have no chance of making it.

He must become more involved like when he played for Gremio, getting into scoring positions, make more forward passes, making forward runs etc. Right now Aquilani is better than Lucas in everything, except being Italian and too fancy with the ball at times.

From the BBC Gossip Column

Bloody hell don't tell me he want out now and all?  It could be a big season for him this year

"You have to see what Rafa Benitez plans,"

I'm wondering what he means by this, are Rafa's plans the reason he wants to leave OR is he being shipped out as part of Rafa's plans ? .

My problem with Lucas is that even if he has a good game (in comparison to hi bad ones) he never makes a impact on the team. He meanders through the game.

His good games comprise of his not making many mistakes but offering little to nothing else.

His bad games comprise of him consistently making mistakes, by giving the ball away or making poor passing decisions.

Good points there.....you can't expect every Brasilian to be a world beater and to set the pitch on fire.....but you've got to expect from the captain of their u21's that there'd be "something" about him....
I hate to say it, but I generally cringe when I see the ball being passed to Lucas 'cos I'm hoping against hope that he manages to either keep it for more than 5 secs, or get it to a team mate pretty much immediately. Most of the time, he fails on both counts....
And he must have one of the highest bookings-per-minutes-played quotients on the team....
