Call me old fashioned but we have certain unwritten traditions at this club that are being eroded away in the hope we can acquirte the Holy Grail that has become the Premier League Title.

Benitez has been at the club 5 years , the Americans even less. I've been here all my life and thats significantly longer so let me repaet , we DON'T buy Manchester United players ...end of !

???

Let`s cut off our noses to spite our faces.
We haven`t won the league in 20 yrs mate,IMHO opinion we DO buy manU players if we can win the league.

No we DON'T !

And if you disagree then why didn't Paisley, Fagan, Dlaglish, Souness, Houllier or Evans buy one ?

Next thing you'll be telling me we ought to have Ball Boys , stuffed Mascots and The Oman blasting out on the PA if it gives us a chance of winning something !

I`m sick off watching ManUre win the league and if Tevez wants to leave Manure and he can improve our chances of winning No. 19 before the scum do then feck tradition. All traditions become outdated as time moves on.If nobody else is sticking to tradition then why should we???
In Rafa I trust.

I think Tevez is a classy player but he is just a smokescreen for Rafa to conduct his real transfers in private.

Times may be changing but Dylan sang that in the 60's  !

You haven't got a monopoly on being sick of seeing the Mancs win the League as I'm sure 1000's of fellow fans will testify but there are certain lines drwn at our club that IMHO shouldn't be crossed and this is one of them................

Feck tradition if you must and label them as outdated as you seem to believe they are those traditions have laid a foundation at our club and make it what it is today and all the titles in the world don't change that .

Feck tradition ............Shanks would be turning in his grave  ???

I despise Fergie and pretty much everything he represents but I applauded him when he blocked the Heinze move to LFC cos he understands what it means to have a rivalry and despite their obvious ascendency over us these last 15 years never forgets where the real threat comes from........

Your attitude of "win at all costs" may sit well with you and your entitled to your opinion but there are many who have a different take on these matters.

saw that, pair of clowns, I just took it as a compliment as to how well we've done this year. People say Rafa hasn't got a clue and come up with stuff like this. Someone's wrong somewhere down the line, they can't both be right can they  :D

On the subject tho Nanny Mascha and Xabi would get in there easily, our RB is as good as theirs and there's not much to choose between the goalkeepers IMO

Hi Nanny, yes I watched MOTD2 and nearly spat my supper out when they had "Fletcher and Carrick" in the middle !

FFS, what planet are these pundits on ?

Fletcher !

Carricks had his first good season since signing for them and everyone and their dog wants to gush over him ! ???

Alonso is a million miles better than Carrick and I knew who I'd want alongside me betwixt Fletch and Masca !

I'd also put Reina in over Van der Saar and despite their 14 matches without conceding a goal we have conceded just 1 more goal than them all season ........... And while we're at it lost half as many games .....FACT ! :D

Technically Tevez is not a Manc player...he's a player on loan just like we loan our players to other clubs. Talking about not gonna sign any Manc players, hey, even  if they want to give us Ronaldo for free, i would say F@CK NO!!!!! but in Tevez 's case, it's different.

There's no wonder the rest of the football World considers us arrogant and ignorant about football in equal measure. You can argue about Reina and van Der Sar, agility and shot stopping against experience and level headedness. My leaning would be towards our man, but occasional lapses in concentration make it close. I'll give them the centre halves a left back, but it's close on the right side of defence. Neither would get in a World eleven, but I'd just about take Arbeloa over O'Shea. I like Arby, as I do most good honest pro's so I might be slightly over-estimating him. It's debateable.

Carrick and Fletcher over Alonso and Masherano though? Come on  :D Are we seriously comparing the captain of Argentina, the bloke who Maradona raves about to Darren Fletcher :D Does anybvody seriously think the two are in the same stratosphere? Fletcher fits my preferred model of the good honest pro, but it's like comparing a pub chef to Gordon Ramsay and even in the face of his "honest pro-ness", I'd be amazed if even he thinks he's better than our man. Needless to say, if he does he's a c... (sometimes you've just got to tell it like it is).

As for Carrick over Alonso. Arguably it's closer in that Carrick and Alonso can be mentioned in the same breath, but realistically only if you're one of those free diver people or whatever the feck their called. Are we seriously trying to suggest that Carrick would have got game time in the European Championship winning team when he can't get in the England squad? Lets be serious. Whcihever TV network employs these two clowns should rip up their contracts and get somebody on who's got a clue. As I've said before, i may not be cheerful but I am cheap  .

Even if they had Xabi and/or Mash in there it would still be clear we need to more quality overall in the squad. To win we need virtually our best team playing but Utd are able to rotate and still get the results.

Is right fella.

I do think, though, that Rafa is purely doing this to p*ss that Scotch nob-jockey off. Whilst he and the papers :censored: and cum in their pants respectively, Rafa will be busy snapping up some other signings undisturbed by the interfering b*stards.
It will also tie the scum up with negotiations, causing bad feeling between player, club and fans, and the general unrest might be enough to unsettle the whiskey-swigging f*cker for the entire summer.

It's the most glaring smoke-screen in the history of illusion, in my opinion, and the only way it could get better is if Tevez publicly declares that he wants to join us, then we tell him to get f*cked.

If Rafa can find some way to drag the diving queen into the argument, it would be a pretty funny close season indeed! :D

It will take more than Tevez negotiations to stir up things at Utd Lando but I agree I think it's a smokescreen. But we do need players of his quality here so hopefully that is what Rafa is busy out buying.
