Very weird that the Times would use someone like this guy. "I ask him if he was surprised Blackburn were so hopeless. I don't understand his replay", oh how very witty or how very xenophobic and purile. This guy presumably manages to make a living out of this garbage bottom rung journalism, it makes you wonder it really does.  :no

Ignore all this. This guy is obviously a utd fan and it wouldn't surprise me if Fergie has used his influence on a few journos in an attempt to stir up things.

Perhaps if they both kick off and end up in a mass brawl and the FA ban both teams and the semi is replayed with the teams nearest neighbours. We could then beat City in the semi and do the chavs in the final. Only a thought. Wot do ya think, any chance.  :D

What the funk is this guy going on about?

Fat Sammy has lost it! What the feck is he going on about!? When I watched the game i was pretty sure that Rafa was initially pis..sed with Alonso as he put the ball in, I think he wanted to see it taken short (or mores likely) into feet instead instead of being lumped into the box where they had a considerable height advantage. Xabi lumped it in and BANG, Torres scores with a header he had no right to win, hence the frustrated look followed by a smile. Or did I get that totally wrong?

From the Daily Mail;

Benitez insists it was a humorous sign towards his players after they had scored a goal despite ignoring his instruction from the touchline.

A source said: ‘Sam said some pretty strong stuff on Friday and so did Sir Alex Ferguson. But after the game itself, Sam had a long chat with Sammy Lee over a
couple of beers but didn’t say anything about any signals.

‘He and Sammy go back a long way and Sammy worked for him at Bolton so it’s surprising that if Sam had a grievance he wouldn’t even mention it.’

Rafa and Fergie just need to put up their dukes and go at it. Problem solved. Then again I wouldn't be surprised if Ferguson's BFF comes in to save him from Rafa's wrath

In Spain we also have journos that are not good enough for speculating and they choose the path of being funny. Like Mr Aizlewood.

HOLA journalists! That’s Spanish for “hello journalists” by the way. Listen, in Spain, where I am from, we have a snappy saying: “whomsoever says someone else is arrogant is in fact arrogant themselves because they have called someone arrogant”. I think that is perfectly clear, don’t you?

No, no? for this situation we actually say, "In a closed mouth, flies do not enter".

The open mouth would be of course the journo talking shít or Ferguson. The closed mouth, a good advice. The flies, the consequence of opening too much the mouth, that is when you attack with your mouth (words) and it actually fires back leaving you as a ríght idiot.

Understood, no? :D

And you know to whom I am referring, don’t you? Listen, I would like you to turn your tape recorders off now.

If you choose to use the 100% correct information I am about to give you in your newspapers, then that is entirely up to you, but please do not quote me directly.

The man to whom I am referring is Ferguson Siralex, the manager of Manchester United, who, let me remind you, have failed to win the Premier League for 11 whole months. Ferguson Siralex has been referring to someone as arrogant who, in fact, is very humble and not at all arrogant.

This paragraph is a good example of how you can pretend to be sharp razor funny, but still keep intact your Ferguson árse licking fundamentals. Of course when you're not good enough as a journo, anything helps to keep your career going.

That man to whom he is referring is, in fact, myself, Rafael “Rafa” Benitez. And the man to whom I am referring is referring to me as arrogant because he is arrogant himself. Ha! I am indeed the Spanish Oscar Wilde, although I am happily married, whereas I believe Oscar Wilde’s marriage was in fact unhappy.

Now, I cannot understand why I, myself, Rafael “Rafa” Benitez, a Spaniard, a Madrista and the man chosen to lead Liverpool to third place in the Premier League - The Very Special One if you will - could be described as arrogant.

Funny, and with prediction capabilities too this one. We're gonna be third.

Listen, in my humble opinion, I am the most humble man on Merseyside and the Wirral peninsula (that’s a Spanish word you know; Wirral).

In fact, if there were a prize for being the most humble man in football (and I must check if there is) then in all humility, I am sure I would win it.

Listen, I am sure Ferguson Siralex is attempting to bait me into saying something rash, into responding like a bull to a red rag (ah, sweet blood-stained memories . . .) into saying something that would damage the third-place aspirations of Liverpool, the club whom I, merely the son of an upper-middle-class hotel owner, was personally invited to manage. Has Ferguson Siralex ever been personally invited to manage Liverpool? He has not. I rest my case.

And, remember, Liverpool are a big club, not like Everton, who, by the way, are a little club. As are Blackburn Rovers, for whom it is game over if you know what I mean by this gesture [clenches hand into fist and violently jerks it up and down].

I am going to respond by saying absolutely nothing about his arrogance in referring to myself, Rafael “Rafa” Benitez, as arrogant. Except I will say this: Ferguson Siralex is nervous that we were top of the table for two whole hours last week.

He is nervous of my humble self and the last time I mentioned this in public, his poor quality management made the team so nervous that they did not win for two whole days. I do not want to play mind games, but that showed him who was the psychological boss.

Listen, I happen to spontaneously have in my hands a sheet of paper. It contains all my accusations. I accuse him of playing Wayne Rooney in most Premier League games. I accuse him of not drawing at home to Stoke and Hull. I accuse him of not wasting money on Martin Skrtel, Mark Gonzalez and Jermaine Pennant. And I accuse him of still being in the Champions League. Once again, you can see that I, the humble Rafael “Rafa” Benitez, am right yet again. Olé!

This is the most pathetic article I've read in years. :D

I'll revisit this cúnt's blog the day we win the league.

Is it not disrespectful to field a weak team, when you can field a full strength one against a small club expecting to win? But then it backfires and you lose, which makes you a bit of a w@nker, doesn't it Fergie? Now, imagine if Rafa had have done that in a semi final, leaving out Torres and Gerrard out of arrogance?
