People rarely see the good things some players do because they are too busy concentrating on spotting any error or slight mistake the player makes .

Yeah Rafa seems to put more belief in his players than some of our own fans do and so far on the whole Rafa is fully justifiying that belief.

so is everyone happy to keep kuyt as first choice right winger next season?

this is a serious question and not an attack from me

hey its not often you see the words 'kuyt' and 'attack' in the same sentence unless it also includes the words another, liverpool, breaks down, when, ball, passed, to

ok keep it serious, is everyone happy with kuyt as first choice next season?

If it helps them improve as players to the level at which they do not need to be sold I am all for it. Unfortunatley of the 3 mentioned I would still say 2 need to go. Unless Babel puts in MOM performances every game he plays until the end of season.

Not sure mate. I want to say yes but I think Rafa will be thinking no as we have Yossi who can fill in there too.

not as a nailed on starter for every game but definitely as one of the options. to be more accurate i wouldn't like to see him gone.

actually i have not been a fan of kuyt, but have recognised his effort, and ive also given him credit where it is due. so i post my thoughts on both sides of the coin

your argument falls down my friend

even me, his biggest critic praises him when he plays well, but admitting that would stop gybs pretending he is the only fan on the forum,

just give the digs a rest gybs

you and maybe the odd few are excpetions to the rule mate .

And to answer peewees question - Kuyt isnt and never has really been playing as a right winger anyway - more of a right midfielder or right forward - A winger is someone who hugs the touchline all day long going up and down it going past people an dputting in crosses - kuyt doesnt do that .

And as for first choice - well i think someone with a bit more creativity in the whole of the midfield should be added but not neccasary a right winger because of all of them out there bar the 40 mil plus ones their end product is no better and in fact worse than kuyts from that position . so yes i think kuyt will spend most of next season in the starting 11.

and as for digs against you peewee - i think your getting a bit paranoid - you have already helped ruin one thread lets not start again on another thread. I wasnt digging at anyone so lets not read into something that isnt there in the first place.

No, it doesn't, but that doesn't mean you don't have recognized his effort nor you haven't told so.

I think that what he describes, is done by every fan. We all have our tastes, and almost unwillingly, we tend to forgive mistakes of the players we like, and note down in the mind the mistakes of the players we don't like.

In the case of scapegoats, such as Kuyt, they have to prove a lot more than a non scapegoat. Kuyt for me started well the season, he played well within the limits he can provide. But a couple of bad weeks were enough to attract over him a lot of stick. In the contrary, players like Alonso or Mascherano or Reina, can afford two bad weeks without most posters considering it a problem.

Kuyt won't be my ideal first choice not this season nor the next. But you won't see me calling his game shít, because it isn't. Shít players do not play for Liverpool nor are Dutch internationals. Yes, with the ball he's not Messi and he won't be, but he provides a lot without the ball. And Rafa appreciates that, and so do some players.

definition of a Winger
Even although the classical winger who dribbles up the sideline is nowadays being replaced by an all-purpose outside midfielder, the "old" winger position is still present in many teams today. Wingers are commonly found in teams who play with three attackers.
The definition of a winger is not quite universal and it is not uncommon to refer to an outside midfielder as a winger. Traditionally, wingers are strictly attacking players who stay wide, dribble the ball forward and serve in crosses.

i never said it was a dig at me, but nonetheless it was a dig that other posters have picked up on and responded to. In fact i am not aware of any poster who has not given him credit when he has played well. Lets stick to facts and then there can be no misinterpretations
