Aguero - At.Madrid
Keirrison - Palmieras
Eto'o - Barcelona
Poldolski - B.Munich
Villa - Valencia

Mine would be:
1. Villa
2. Aguero
3. Benzema
4. Keirrison
5. Gomez

I believe non are particularly realistic but the last two are maybe long shots.

While this guy might not be a "big name", I reckon he might do a job in a squad capacity. Scores goals wherever he goes, not the worst International record and shouldn't cost a lot.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alvaro_Saborio

Alvaro Saborio (FC Sion/Costa Rica)

Deportivo Saprissa (league) : 109 goals in 149 apps (0.7315 goals/app)
FC Sion (league) : 39 goals in 80 apps (0.4875 goals/app)

Costa Rica : 13 goals in 42 apps (0.3095 goals/app)

It says Pulis at Stoke is looking at him so maybe we'll see him in the Premiership next season. I spotted him a few years ago on CM06, someone I worked with his now a fan since he is on FM09 and costs something like £80k. I didn't know about Sanli until I saw him on CM06, a few others have risen to prominance that stand out on there too. Fair enough he's not played at the very highest levels in terms of strong leagues, but given his record it's surprising noone has taken a punt on him.

Isn't he pushing 30 now?

Good player though. I've heard that Spurs are after him aswell in the summer.

Edin Dzeko the 23 year old Wolfsburg Bosnian, scores for fun in the Bundesliga.  Has good size on him too. Looked great against Bayern, although most of the team did. And they are on top of the table in Germany now so I would think they wouldn't be too keen to sell.

Gomez is certainly realistic but I have never watched him and come away impressed.  Maybe I just never watch when he has a good game.  He is only 23 and scores nearly a goal every other game. And importantly, I don't think he has the reputation or clout to demand to start every game at a club like Liverpool. Stuttgart are destined for the Europa league as of now, so he might have a reason to come to a better league, a better team and a chance at playing in the Champions League.

If the season ended today Bayern wouldn't be in the Champions League either, which would be twice in three years. I think this would open up our chances for Lahm and/or Schweinsteiger

Schweinsteiger would be great but he has a questionable character. I think Keirrison is just using us to create a move to Barca. Isn't Podolski going back to Cologne?

I think we should sell Voronin bring in Sturrage and Llorente if the price is right. We need a striker who can operate as a target man as it gives us other options going forward. We definatley also need a dedicated right winger.

yes Podolski is going back.  Also Bastian has been at Bayern since he was 13 so he might not want to leave

If Barca brought in K9 and Ribery, then I would hope that would rule them out of any move for Villa or Silva, and if they did, it would surely put Henry and/or Eto'o on the market.

Sturridge's contract is up in June but I don't see why he would want to come to Liverpool when he has trouble getting in the Citeh side. I understand he has had some injury problems as well, so I would be cautious, plus he could end up extending his contract still.

Llorente is having a really solid season in La Liga, and he does have good size as well.

Etoo is breaking his own records this season in La Liga.

It reminds me of quality and service. The quality is permanent, but obviously a striker that has a better service score more goals.

He's also top scorer in his World Cup qualifying group and UEFA overall, Bosnia perhaps the surprise package - them and Hungary who haven't qualified for a major tournament since 1986 and are ahead of Portugal and Sweden in their group

UEFA World Cup Qualifying Goalscorers

7 Dzeko (Bosnia)
6 Smolarek* (Poland)
6 Sonck (Belgium)

*scored four out of 10 Poland scored past San Marino

Names such as Villa and Rooney have scored five goals in qualifying so far, Spain are in the same group as Bosnia. Keane is top scorer in Ireland's qualifying group (four goals), Kuyt is joint top scorer in Holand's qualifying group (three goals)

Podolski has four goals, Ribery is joint top scorer in France's qualifying group with three, while Eto'o is joint second top scorer in CAF qualifying region with six goals - level with Kanoute and one better off than Adebayor. Moumouni Dagano of Burkina Faso is lead scorer in CAF with nine goals, and is/was top scorer with seven goals in the second round in which Adebayor and Eto'o scored all their goals

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_FIFA_World_Cup_qualification_(CAF)

Maybe the winner of the donkey derby on Saturday should prepare us for more shock results. Costa Rica finished top of their qualifying group and scored 20 goals, they're second in the final group behind USA. Saborio only has two goals but so do a number of their players - nine on two goals, one on three and one on four, and another three on one goal, just shows how ridiculously weak the region is. I don't go a bundle on qualifying draws, always seem to be mismatch groups. CONCACAF was no different - Honduras, Canada, Mexico and Jamaica all in one group while Costa Rica had El Salvador, Haiti and Suriname.

Last qualified for a World Cup

2006 Mexico
2002 Costa Rica
1998 Jamaica
1986 Canada
1982 Honduras
1982 El Salvador
1974 Haiti
n/a Suriname

There have been 33 places at the World Cup from CONCACAF, 21 taken by USA and Mexico (three as hosts) No CONCACAF side has got past the QFs, even as hosts, and yet they could have FOUR sides at the 2010 World Cup. So we'll less often see moderate UEFA sides reaching the World Cup, but never fear because we'll see USA, Japan, South Korea and Mexico there practically every time due to the weakness of their qualifying regions. I say more intercontinental play-offs, let the Bosnias and Hungarys play USA, Japan etc and see who qualifies. As if 90% of the teams in the regions FIFA throw qualifying places at are ever going to qualify.

I don't think its necessary to expand the World Cup finals to more European teams. Its not really the objective of the tournament to find the best 32 countries. Its to name THE best, grow the game around the globe, and make a ton of money. You can certainly make more money if you engage the entire globe and not just Europe plus Argentina and Brazil.

What about Pavel Pogrebnyak the Russian fella? Perhaps not as good as Llorente but still pretty established and a solid target man.
