Title run-in - The home straight

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

You're right ace that I post things that everybody knows.

Well almost everybody

its kinda hard to see manutd slipping after coming back against Villa now...
Arsenal could very well get a result against them but cant see anyone else realistically getting the job done against them...
then you have US on the other hand... is there any chance we'd go out and win all our remaining games in the league ?
title is as good as lost and we might aswell focus on Europe now...

There are a few who think we might aswell focus on Europe now and the league is a good as lost.

I wouldn't call that mentality "rather silly" exactly, but I can't find the exact translation from Spanish right now. A " :D" will do.

You're oversimplifying the situation and insulting those of us who realise it isn't that simple. There is a chance we can win, it relies heavily on the mancs dropping points and even without a handful of 1st teamers they still didn't drop points to villa.

And even if they do drop points, doesn't mean to say we won't. It's their's to lose, we cannot influence their results.

Can't we?

So did your stats predict the Fulham defeat of Manchester United?

No.

Did that defeat have anything to do with the spanking the previous week?

Most probably. And it probably had also to do with the fact that Manchester felt the pressure on them.

Isn't the joy in celebration of the goal of our players a proof that they believe it's possible? I think yes.

You are the one insulting the possibilities of our team.

The most sad thing is that some people stumble in the same stone not once but twice. They should have learned the lesson that when we were 7 points off the top we weren't out of it. If we weren't out of it then, we're not out of it now. And quite simply I think that if we continue playing this way and Manchester keeps playing with the same doubts, anything can happen.

come on Sabre now ur just saying what everyone already knows... we know that there IS a possibilty we'd go out and win the fcker.. theres also a possibilty Chelsea would go out and win it... Arsenal fans by the same understanding still believe... it aint over till its over and all the nonsense... no one is saying theres no chance but all thats being said is that its a long shot to say the least and being 1 point behind with an extra game played, 7games to go isnt exactly a situation that breeds much confidence... everyone seems to be talking about manutd dropping points in 2 games... 2games is all it takes and blah blah... well yea mathematically thats probably true... but are we gonna go out and win 7 games in a row... its probably unrealistic to think that (given the opposition and the fact that all the their 'harder' games are at home) the mancs are gonna drop more than 4 or 5 points or so in their remaining fixtures... its probably just about as unrealistic thinking we'll go out and extend our winning streak by a further 7 games (again given the opposition and how we seem to struggle against the smaller sides) ...

all thats being said is that talking up our titles chances to the extent that some are atm is starting to seem rather silly really... we'r not just one point behind... and we dont have westbrom to play for the next 7 fixtures... lets not get ahead of ourselves here...

Why are they being really silly ?

Form suggests that currently we can go on and win our remaining games and form also suggests that man utd can go and drop more points - so it maybe a long shot but its not unrealistic - its happened before and can happen again .

Look at the table - we are just one point behind - yes they have a game in hand but they still dont have those points from that game .

ok gybs im convinced.. we'r gonna win the league with 3 games to spare... there ya go...

And you have just missed the point once agian - as sabre is saying people are saying that we should concentrate on europe and that rafa will never win the league - what is more silly ? that or people saying we still got a chance to win the league ?

yea well... its an opinion shared by many ... fans and neutrals... you need to go out and beat the smaller sides to win the league and until we can go out and do that consistently then i dont see us winning it.. i dont see Rafa chenging his 'ways' anytime soon so when all is said and done i just dont see him winning us the league... silly maybe but sure as hell makes more sense than ... eh im getting bored here ur dragging me into another one ur black holes arent ya ! cheeky baastard     :p

well... fair enough whatever the number is... manutd... 8 games... probably an easier set of fixtures.. how many points would you realistically expect them to get... and the whole form thing cant really be taken into account for all we know they might aswell have gotten over their recent dip in form and are back to winning ways... thaey'v yet and again shown they have the mental strength to deal with being under pressure and step up when it comes to a title race when needed... id say they get atleast 20 points or so.... like fergie or dont hes the best in the world when it comes to wrapping a league title up when he has a lead late on..

We beat Blackburn go back top of the league the mancs play Sunderland they will be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtrEN-YKLBM Rooney and Ronaldo will be acting the goat again, Rooney will lose his rag knowing we are back top of the league.

They will be away from home Sunderland fans giving them abuse and singing YNWA, Cisse and Jones harrassing their defence, Cisse to do his old club a favour cause hes getting called a scouse b@stard and a murderer like Gazbaz got called yesterday.

Sunderland should have atleast got a draw at Old tw@tford they where really unlucky, they need the points no bending over backwards with a tube of KY jelly in hand.

We face fat sams hoof merchants but we will find a breakthrough best atmosphere for an early kick off ever at Anfield cheering the lads all the way to 3 points.

They are http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtrEN-YKLBM like never before because its us, and we need to stay calm. I remember a poor scouser Tommy who was shot an old nazy gun, as he lay on the battle field dyin, dyin, dyin with the blood rushin out of his head, as he lay on the battle field dyin these where the last words he said I support the team that plays in red its a team that we all know its a team that we call LIVERPOOL AND TO GLORY WE WILL GO.  :buttrock

The reds are comin up the hill boys, the reds are comin up the hill boys, they all laugh at us, they all mock at us, they all say our days are numbered born to be a scouser, victorious are we. If you wana win a cup then you better hurry up cause we're LIVERPOOL F.C.

We're gona be back on our perch Furgie you alckie poker faced kunt.

Ace would you have thought Fulham could take points of Utd? Nothing is certain yet and yes it is still Utd's to lose but do you expect all fans to sit back and think the same? This is the closest we have come in so long so of course most here are going to believe it is possible.

Too soon to give up, anything can happen in the remaining games.  Let's win our own games, that's all we can do to give us any chance.

If we don't win the league this season it puts even more pressure on Rafa to win it next season, he has to deliver soon.

Sure some people will say that they didn't expect him to win it this season but we were in such a strong position and blew it, that shouldn't have happened.  Rafa has no excuse really, except he fooked up.

We have scored 16 goals conceeded only once and that was a penalty against them kunts.

Do they look like a side that will win their next 8 games? No. Do we look like a side that can win our next 7 games? Fuckin right we do.

Does our manager and players believe we can do it? To right.

Now grow some balls, fasten your seatbelts WE ARE IN A TITLE RACE lots of twists and turns yet to come secure all lose items this is going to be one hell of a ride.

Hold your nerve we are going to do it. Why? because we just will.

Now get behind Rafa and the boys or get off the train if you dont have the bottle for it. :buttrock
Our lads need us more than ever now when did Liverpool fans start being scared? Never, your either with us or your not dont be afraid of the dark, at the end of a storm theres a golden sky for your dreams be tossed and blown WALK FUCKING ON WITH HOPE IN YOUR HEART.

Wow...  :bowdown
