Lucas is without doubt one of the worst players I have ever seen wear our jersey. Im really trying to trace back in time to think of a more talentless player. Voronin was close but he did score that beauty in France... um.. No he is the worst and Raffa loves him! Why indeed, think penalty against Stoke, sending off against Everton. How can one so patenetly useless be allowed to single handedly sabotarge our season. Id rather see anybody in the team but him. There is nothing in his game that warrants any form of merit, why Raffa please explain to this bemused fan?

Welcome to the forum, in my opinion you are spot on but I think you might get a few a nasty responses from some of our resident rose tinted head in the sand pro-rafalites but don't mind them, they are mostly harmless.

In the last two games has he made mistakes, certainly but once Gerrard went of last night he seemed to be one of the only players willing to take up any slack, his passing was sharp and crisp and his movement off the ball was always trying to make space for the man in posession.

The penalty at Wigan was another bad mistake but yet again he was performing well in that game.

As for saying he hasn't shown any signs of being a good player I think your wrong I have seen enough in the Arsenal game last season and the Newcastle game this year to suggest that if he can settle into the english game and its physicality (which he showed signs of last night, couple of very nasty tackles he was on the receiving end of he just brushed them of) he will prove to be a shrewd buy at 5 million.

I could understanding calling him thick if he was 25yrs but he isn't, football is all about developing the mental side of the game and that takes years to come to terms with.

Again I'll go back to Gerrard, now I'm in no way comparing Lucas with Gerrard but I think i'm right in thinking that Gerrard got sent of in a derby for one of the worst tackles i've seen in the modern game when he was only breaking into the team, in fact didn't he get sent of last year at Anfield or maybe the year before in a derby for a pretty naive tackle.

It happens, we plee for our foreign imports to show some passion when it comes to the derby but when one does he is called thick, give the kid a chance to grow up and become the decent footballer he could be. Its unfortunate that we aren't in the position of United or Arsenal were we can carry young players in our first team but thats not the boys fault

How long shall we give him?

well seeing as he is only 21 then its fair to say you still got to give him a bit more time

How much?
A month?
End of the season?
Five years?
Interesting that Keane only got six months and was transferred because he wasnt scoring goals...

I would say give him till the end of next season and as mick says spend time getting him more focused and concentrating on own position . he does have good traits to his game and has shown this a few times .

Poor Lucas, Guess everyone wants a fall guy.  I remember a certain player at his age 22 he was :censored:. Scoring OGs, making rash tackles, and looking like he should be playing for Everton.  What was his name  ah ah ah aha  oh yes Jamie Carragher Best Centre back in the world. YNWA

Come on now! Fall guy, he is not worthy to be in the vicinity of Carra's boots let alone making comparisons! Carra was always a rough diamond in his youth Lucas is just rough. Not a Liverpool player ever!

I don´t feel sorry for him, he had 30+ games the last season and plenty of chances this one, he´s probably even worse now than when he came to Liverpool.

Thanks. Im just getting used to everything (Im a bit of a technophobe). My main reason for joining a forum was to vent the frustration I felt at watching such an abject performance on Weds. Once Gerrard went off there was little to stir the emotions in that team. Take Torres out of the equation (he looks unfit anyway) and there were no match winners in one of the poorest performances Ive seen from a Liverpool team for some time! Liverpool are about great passing football, organisation, great first touches, spreading play, drawing teams out of position, making chances. Not in evidence on Weds.

He´s young and not good enough.
He doesn´t show any sort of brilliancy after 1 year and half. He´s 22, not so young at the end. He´s getting worse, lack of self confidence and he looks to be green as player and as person.

Give on loan.

Just because he is young doesn't automatically mean he will get better with age. We all said the same about Sissoko. He is too careless for my liking. I mean after costing us 2 points by giving away a penalty the other day you would have thought he would exercise some restraint when going in for tackles. Hes ok to have on the bench I guess but I would not start him ahead of Masch let alone Alonso.

Totally agree, after Wigan penalty he continued with silly fouls and yellow cards. No brains.

Giving the opportunity I shall give some celebratory views. Just care about our club and Im sick of watching drab football. Attractive football is what its about, it should be easy on the eye. Weds was hard work and we ultimately deserved the defeat. Just expressing an opinion, that is hopefully allowed here isn't it? And just to clarify for me, Lucas is total garbage.
