That's the Benitez 1.0 sub routine. Babel for Riera, Mickey Mouse for Keane.

It has nothing to do with fading.

And to be honest, when he has been on late nin games he has been just as good as anyone else imo.

Riera is the only great addition we he made this season. Even though we are hunting down the league and playing better than last season we have not really progressed and devoloped our squad.

OK - He has done very well in patches and been off colour in other patches but overall an ok decent signing .

Yeah for real would'nt say his world class and would'nt say his a fringe. A good signing for me. Was the answer to our width problem early in the season.

Decent player at a decent fees. Better than what we had before and had solved half of our problem (only if we can also get a right winger). Sometimes too fancy but we could use more players like this.

We need a big game from Albert tonight, he´s got to draw the defenders of Nando.

I think he tends to over dribble sometimes when he can actually take the simpler route and make the simple pass . Annoys the feck outta me when he runs into players but is the best winger we have had since rafa came , gives us balance , has excellent ball control , now his decision making just needs to be better . Overall good value for money and a good signing by rafa

I know many don't agree, but I thought he was very poor against Chelsea. I'd rate his first season as a bit of a rollercoaster. He started well, then got excellent for a period of around 8 matches. Then he had a proper old dip until about three weeks ago, picked it up again a fter a coupe of "rests" (rotation seems to work in his case) and then last couple of matches (against Chelsea particularly) I thought he was nowhere near effective enough. It was a close thing between him and Kuyt as to who was the worst.

On the rotation thing, perhaps Riera is more into the whole concept and therefore mentally feels rejuvated by the placebo effect of sitting on his erse for an hour while everyone else runs around. I do think that the way Sabes goes on about it, the foreign players sometimes play four games on the bash and then think they are due a bit of a sit down. It's in theri head.  It's a bit like throwing a sickie at work. It's not a lot of good to you as you end up watching back to back Jeremy Kyle's and getting even more wound up than you'd have been if you'd gone in, but you convince yerself that you've had a rest anyway as your practising your "feck me I'm still suffering here" facial expression in the mirror next morning.

Class player, if we can get a right sided version of him, we're laughing.
