Robbie keane - [EDIT: On His Way Back to Spurs]

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby GYBS » Mon Jan 26, 2009 4:45 pm

keane is a grown up man now not some young lad bursting throough - he knows what is required of him and what he needs ot do - if the manager doesnt feel he is doing what is required then keane needs to knuckle down and show him he can produce - wether thats when he starts or comes on as a sub or when he is at training - the last time keane played he was truely awful and i mean one of the worst performances by any player this season . If keane really wants to play for us then go out there and show the manager what you can bring to the team - not go spitting dummy out and throwing toys out of the cot - If you want to be a liverpool player keane then show us and the manager that . Some players thrive on the way rafa treats players ie gerrard - torres etc - in fact gerrard himself has stated how he is driven to get those words from Rafa - "well done" - now thats the sort of attitude towards our manager that we want keane to have .

me and Leon predicted that he wouldnt work out here.

i dont care about the gym, does he need a consistent run in the team (ie: six matches on the trot from the start)

Keane deserves a fair crack of the whip
Nobody can say hes had that can they?
If anyone was sitting on the bench and watched some of the performances from players in the last two matches (especially Kuyt) wouldnt they be frustrated and annoyed?
He cant even get in the squad now
Is that good management?
Isolating one of your best players
I know he hasnt shown his class yet but thats my point. Give him the same chance as Kuyt and see what happens
If he has spat his dummy out he is wrong and needs to sit down man to man and sort it.
But Rafa cant keep blanking him and then expect a world class performance

Little boy, young lad, grown man or even an old man NO one likes to be treated like a tool.  I don't get why people can criticize him for being upset about how he is treated, I'm sure everyone has had a boss they didn't like this is no different.  And Rafa is a hypocrite to some degree, he treats people like :censored: and if they complain or show any sign of it he continues to do so but he himself does nothing but complain when he is mistreated by the club.  He's like a baby when it comes to some of the stuff, is it not the same?  That's beside the point I guess but the bottom line is unless Rafa starts playing him and managing him better he needs to be sold asap.  At least bring him off the bench consistently or something.

Good post
Whenever the board goes up when Keanes on the pitch we all know its his number on it.
Do people really think this is good for the player and the team?

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has ruled out making a move for Liverpool striker Robbie Keane during the January transfer window.

Keane was left out of the squad for the FA Cup clash against Everton on Sunday, fuelling speculation he could be set for a shock move back to White Hart Lane.

Redknapp admits he is a big admirer of the Republic of Ireland international, but has never considered making a move for Keane who only left Tottenham for £20m last summer.

Redknapp said: 'Robbie Keane is a fantastic player in my opinion but he belongs to Liverpool.

'I wouldn't say I wouldn't like him at the football club, but he belongs to Liverpool so it is not an option. As a player and a person I have a lot of time for Robbie. I think he is fantastic.'

I'll go along with that.

Kuyts had to many games playing poor and not been dropped, Keane has had to little games to show his quality. People think Keane would show more class than Kuyt if given the chances. Other think Kuyt offers a lot and plays well, not recently, but generally and deserves his spot whereas Keane hasn't done anything.

It is all about personal opinions, I dont think anyone will work it out. It is difficult to work out some of Rafas decisions, many contadict each other, like this for instance, which is my main concern. I love Rafa and will stand by him but he is worrying me at the moment with Keane.

The injustice is Keane has been dropped after scoring but then brought back in having been dropped and looks out of form. I just feel with a little more character he would almost make Rafa play him by playing out of his skin. Yes it isnt good for the team or the player that he gets 60mins here 60mins there and I dont like RAFAs petulance with this either.

Look at scum, Teves is clearly third choice striker but hes banging on the door by scoring everytime he plays in the FAcup/league cup etc.

Even if Rafa sold Keane in the window, who
the hell would he bring in?.

This is this is the last time we can get this done and dusted before
the run in towards the end of the season, either Rafa plays 442 with Robbie and torres
upfront and keeps him or put the lad out of his misery and sell him.

It's simple, this will be the business end of the season we cannot afford
to have unhappy players who might be called apon when others are injured,
but who are just not up for the fight, because they have been treated like sh.it.

i was lookin forward to robbie comin to liverpool as much as anyone but what can not be drop at rafa's lap is that he has been awful at time and if a youngster had missed some of the chances he has we would be sat here sayin that he would never make it at this level etc etc etc

i still shake my head and wonder what people are thinkin when they want players to decide where they play and for how long for

rafa to go ARE YOU FECKIN INSANE.................. top of the league at xmas... better squad than i can remember since winnin the title.......... one defeat all season       yet people are unhappy and want jose(i play :censored: football defensively) moron. cocky horrible tw@t

when we start scorin again we will start battering teams again.... united will drop point and hopefully villa will run out of steam...........

as for dirk.......... he is garcia but dutch  just when you hate him he does something good and you are back to limbo wuth him but what is for certain he is not a winger or a striker of liverpool quality

Im not saying that some of his performances have not been dire
But Kuyt has played terrible since before christmas and still gets his place
And keeps it
I honestly cant see where people can say that Kuyt deserves a place ahead of Keane
Yesterday, of all days was one of the worst I have seen Kuyt play
He stunk the place out
Yet Rafa stuck with him
Who knows why?
Because hes a workhorse and gives 110% every game no matter how shi't he plays?
Rafa needs to sort it out asap

Thats no reason to

The thing i see on sunday was kuyt was still getting involved - somethings happened somethings didnt happen but he was still there if not the greatest in attack was offering support to both gerrard and arbeloa and in the end got himself into a great position of which he should of done better - lost the ball a few times but a couple of times got up to win it back again . yeah kuyt hasnt been the greatest since xmas but when keane is poor he has no involvement in the play whatsoever - take the game on monday - the guy was nowhere at all .
