Bottom line is that Petar was a wind-up merchant and it was time for him to go.  It'll be hard but I think if the rest of us collectively pull together, we might be able to move on in his absence.  Just for fun, let's start doing that right now.   :;):

i thought babel was very poor when he came on. ok, i know it takes time to get used to the flow of the game and coming on as a sub is not always easy. but he's been coming on in games and having little effect. Against an arsenal team last night, his lack of control was even more evident. kept giving the ball away.
sigh, and i used to think he was quite a useful player going forward. if madrid really want him, let's sell him for a profit.

As for the match.......well after i found out beneitz and mascherano weren't traveling, a draw is a good result.

If chelsea goes top and leads the table going into x'mas..let it be (i know the journalists are making a big hoo-ha on who leads the table over x'mas).

I think its better for us....to play the underdog role until the last game of the season and then win the championship on the final day.... (I know this is asking for too much......keke)..

Guys, this is Sammy Lee's comments I read from guardian.co.uk:

Although Liverpool had the chances to win the game, they grew more cautious against the 10 men. "We would have settled for the draw before the game," said Sammy Lee, the assistant manager, who had taken charge of the team in the absence of Rafael Benítez, who was recovering at home from an operation to remove kidney stones. "The lads are disappointed. Maybe we didn't make the best use of our numerical advantage. But great credit must be given to Arsenal and to our players.

"Rafa communicated through the game with us by mobile phone. His bill will be quite big. He was pleased with the boys. He realised what a good point it was. You have to be very careful that you don't lose [against 10 men]."

I actually like the part where Lee said that "...You have to be very careful that you don't lose." Against 10 men who have lost their best midfielder (injury) and the sending-off of their leading scorer this season? I think that sums up the mindset of the present Liverpool management/coaching staff.

Bob Paisley would never have said things like this, but then he does not really say much to the press. I think Bill Shankly must be turning in his grave!

Babel is so incompetant with his left foot that it amazes me how he does play in the left forward role for holland.

It is very easy to defend against babel as he always has cut back to his right foot before he crosses or shoots..... Maybe he can get away with this in the slower dutch league.

But here....he gets found out often. We should play him upfront or on the right or not play him at all....

And yes...i would also sell him to madrid if they want him badly...... i think there are better players around ie ...Karim Benzema (we have to get him...he can play on the left....he can play support striker....he is mobile enough to play on the right). So if we can sell dossena (5 million) and Babel (15 million), think we can get Benzema for 20....

Lando_Griffin, is it wrong to express some displeasure at the way we set up our stall when we play against an Arsenal team who have lost their best players and down to 10 men?

So I am not a true Liverpool fan because of this? I did not call for Rafa's or Lee's head.

This is a good forum site, in fact, IMHO, it is the best Liverpool supporters' forum site. It is just  a bit of a let down that there are so many forum members who get at each other's throats because some people don't like some other people's opinions. Well, I am some 10,000 miles on the other side of the planet from Liverpool, England. The Arsenal-Liverpool match from the Emirates ended at 2am my local time and I don't miss any live Liverpool match, be it league or cup games.

Just because we don't attend in person at matches because of diatance, and expressing some opinion of unhappiness due to the way the team is playing right now without slating anybody, that makes one "not a true Liverpool fan".

Grow up, my friend!

Wow, real lady like Nanny.

Your from Liverpool, we're not. Do we love the club any less? No. Your at the games, and I'm at the pub every single weekend watching them at 4am with usually at least another 100+ fans. If I could be there f*cken oath I would. I still pay the 29 pounds to be a member from the website for no other reason then to support the club, and I even buy all my merchandise from the official store even though it costs a sh!t load with the aussie dollar-pound rate. One day I'll get to mighty Anfield and I'll be cheering the boys on from the Kop louder then anyone. Racism is totally uncalled for. Especially considering the team you love is full of foreigners. That post doesn't prove your love for the club and it certainly doesnt paint a pretty picture of you as a person.

And hey who knows, if you were born over east a little you might have just been a United fan haha.
