Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I dont see how all the youngsters Rafa bought in the summer fit in with Blatters 6+5 proposal.

Seems we're paying a lot of wages of lads who will all need shipping back shortly.

Don't be surprised in a few years to see name of Liverpool Football Club and the word "bungs" branded around together.

You can't blame scouts, they simply suggest players, it's then up the manager to say whether they want him or not. Ngog looked sound in pre-season but quite clearly isn't ever gonna be a Liverpool regular, so why buy him just to hinder the progress of more talented lads of the same age. Bung, bung, bung.

I think we are all wondering about this part. And you can add Nemeth to that list as well. Needless signing really N'Gog was.

Has an awful lot of development to do at this level. The potential is there I think but I spent most of the game frustrated at his ineffectiveness. He was pretty anonymous but all credit to the lad for the way he took his goal. It was an excellent finish.

Glad to see him get a goal (well taken and all), but I've still got severe doubts about him. It should do him the world of good confidence-wise though.

He has got the ability, but needs time. Although last night i found myself shouting at him to hold the ball up more i thought he took his goal really well. Is it he like playing with Keane, as he was on his bike straight away when keane picked the ball up wide, knowing Keane was going to play that ball. Nice goal more convincing needed.:)

Thought he was awful for the majority of yesterdays game to be honest . He improved in the second half with his hold up play , but not much . Really really well taken goal though . Still not convinced  i'm afraid.

I want to see him being put on loan, he seems like with enough games under his belt he could develop into quite the player.  He won't do this coming off the bench and the rare few starts, so if he stays here he will just be :censored:.

Not good enough and very probably never ever will be, by all means put him out to loan though, see if anything happens. I would much rather see Pachecho or one of the other youngsters given a chance, why doesn't Rafa ever do this, that is one of the things that most irritates me with Rafa is inflexibility.

Inflexibility? What has that got to do with it? Just because Rafa rates Ngog (FWIW I don't) and you would rather see Pacheco (based on a bit of pre-season promise which it's worth adding, was also shown by Ngog).

You would prefer to see one of the other youngsters given a chance? Triffic timing that lad.........or did i just imagine seeing Kelly, Spearing and Darby playing in last nights game?

I know you get a bit of a hard time on here from some posters but it's hardly surprising when you make ridiculous comments like this one.

Well although he remains a bit of an enigma, his goal was taken with real aplomb. At least now he's shown SOMETHING, at least now there is a glimmer amongst the fog. Still not convinced either, but at least now we know there is something trying to get out. I must confess before that I had barely seen anything at all which made him even look like a footballer. Like that bloke that was George Weah's cousin or whatever he was and got 20 mins at Southampton  .
