I prefer him rather than kuyt as the second striker, his first touch and movements are better. Kuyt on the right wing cuttin into the box and scoring goals.
I think Rafa agrees with me.  :)

rafa should give the guy full 90 mins. Maybe he would score in the last 10 mins always you never know. His never going to gain confidence if taken off always after 60 mins without scoring. Even though during the 60 mins his on he misses sitters, giving him the extra 30 mins you never know what the outcome could be.

A lot of you are overreacting. Keane's main problem is that he's trying too hard. He's running into areas to try to receive the ball, and when he does, it's usually in wide areas where he gets isolated a lot. At least it's not the lack of want for trying from the fella. He needs a settled partner playing with him, and when has he had it? Torres has been injured most of the time FFS. People are also saying how Dirk Kuyt should have a rest, and so did I in another thread, but if you rest Kuyt, then who do you play up front with Keane, or do you play him up front on his own? Something that he isn't good enough to do. He's not that kind of striker. It's a catch 22.

I hope that KEane takes note of today.

Your not assured of a place in the line up here, no matter what your reputation or price tag.

Two things guarantee a start, goals, and performances - sadly he has shown none of either yet.

Im sure he will get another next week. We have Arsenal the week after and ideally you would want one someone like him going into that game in confident spirits.

how can a classy striker suddenly turn to :censored: by moving to anfield?
i think the psychological effect is too big, in football term, he should be playing better as he is surrounded by better players.
Keane shld really get a grip to save his career and becomes a legend or face the danger of becoming the most exp flop in our history.

In fairness to Keane, he hasn't been getting the supply too often of late. He likes the ball to feet instead of over the top and onto head.

Also giving him 60-70 minutes a game is surely not good for his confidence. How many times in the past has Ian Rush, R. Fowler & M.Owen had quite games only to pop up late in the game and get a goal or brace to secure the points.

I think when Keane got the 2 goals against WBA and was Hauled off, damaged him badly. He was probably thinking "What the heck have I got to do to get the 90 mins here".

Maybe Rafa needs to point out to Keane that Torres has been injured a lot this seas on(shouldn't need telling that) and he needs to keep Keane fit so chasing hat-tricks is not as important as making sure he doesn't get injured and he's as fresh as possible. The other reason for subbing him being when he's playing badly or at least 'not playing well' and getting frustrated, you can't really blame Rafa or some fans for doubting someone who's scored just four goals in 22 appearances.

If he keeps reacting badly to being substituted then Rafa won't put up with that for long on top of meagre goals returns, don't forget Bellamy lasted only one season in which he scored 9 goals in 42 appearances which is a better striker rate than Keane has so far. I would say Rafa deliberately didn't give Keane any time on the pitch, whether to teach him his place, to rest him or because he's on his way out is hard to know. Could be any, some, all or none of those reasons, but you can't tell me there's nothing wrong when we're 0-0 after near 70 mins of a game and our £20m striker isn't brought on.

Should Robbie Keane give up on Liverpool and return to Spurs?
By Matt Lawless
Last updated at 8:46 PM on 07th December 2008

Robbie Keane's 'dream' £20.3 million summer switch to Anfield is quickly turning into a horrible nightmare.

A paltry two goals in 15 Premier League games leaves Keane's Liverpool career hanging in the balance.
This weekend, manager Rafa Benitez dropped his strongest hint yet that he is far from happy after dropping his high-profile signing.

The struggling Republic of Ireland captain had to suffer Saturday's 3-1 win over Blackburn from the bench as Benitez delivered a brutal warning to the once talismanic Spurs star: 'Start scoring or start packing your bags.'

The Spaniard, rapidly losing his faith and patience in the misfiring striker, has warned Keane that it's time to justify his hefty price-tag with plenty of 'improvement' in the coming weeks.

Failing that, a miserable four month stint on Merseyside could come to a dramatic end with former club Spurs said to be preparing a 'cheeky' £5million offer in a bid to offer Keane a sensational escape route back to White Hart Lane in the January transfer window.

So, should Robbie Keane give up on Liverpool and grab Harry Redknapp's 'offer' to return to Spurs?

Have your say...
-------------

£5Mil are you having a laugh. No way Rafa would sanction that even if he wasnt scoring. Id rather buy Owen for 2Mil and let Keana sort himself out rather than lose money.
