which youngsters and where do we get the money to get these players that we would buy before selling ??

Sell Voronin , Benayoun and Dossena, pennant as well if possible . Keep hold of babel is essential as i think he has bag loads of potential and just needs a few consecutive games under his belt and he will come good . Loan lucas out as he has shown potential and glimpses of what he can do , regular football will do him good .

As for bringing i , the first one i'd look at is owen , a bargain for around 5 million and is still a top striker , seems to have gotten his injuries out of the way and if there's still money left than a new left bag , bale would be good , still young and already quite good that is if dossena has not gotten consistency to his game yet

Surely there must be some youngsters in our academy who can play midfield, we were talking about emergency cover here! how about El Zhar and Plessis as two names off the top of my head.
We could use an overdraft facility with a bank to buy before we sell or some other financial mechanism, I don't really think that would be a stumbling block.

so you want us to get more money lent to us on top of the 300 odd million we already owe the banks ??

and you want to play players that are the same age as lucas but arent any better than him ??

Are you trying to be deliberately obtuse or are you just a bit slow?
Do you know what an overdraft is and what it is used for? I'll assume you don't so let me explain. An overdraft is a temporary loan on an a account that in this case would be paid back after we have sold our players, do you get it know? Did you notice how this summer we actually sold some players after we had bought, didn't you wonder at the time how we managed to do that?

If you are telling me that we don't have any other midfielders in the academy with more potential or ability than Lucas then it is seriously depressing.

I reckon that Plessis is as good as Lukas right now.

The bottom line here that we can talk all we want about this, but no one knows if we have money to spend or have to sell to buy.

Whatever the case we should not buy anyone unless they add to or improve what we already have. And no player should be sold until we have a replacement of a better quality than what we want to ship out.

The names on this thread have been mentioned over and over again. With some such as Lucas they were and remain long term investments and it would be stupid to sell, others should be seen on their merits.

Personally I would prefer to see more chances for academy players from the city.
