Get rid of Benayoon, Lucas and Voronin. Don't know how much that would actually bring in.

But what to do with the money? A new RM or (in the light of the recent discussion about Liverpool's lack of attack sans Torres) a new striker option?

I don't think Liverpool can get both with the money that the sales above would accrue.

We could sell him for what 5million? and how much do you think Lennon would go for? 9million? Or is he valued at less?

I doubt it as anyone would take lennon over pennant. including spurs. Who have bentley downt he right... who we should have bought.

I would get rid of dossena, lucas, pennant and voronin if possible.... Would like to see a couple of youngsters play well against spurs next week and maybe show they can make the step up. we need to strengthen the full back areas, I like aurelio and arbeloa... but they are not the players we need. Unless we find some foreign gems somewhere out there I cannot think of any quality full backs that would be available at the prices we can look at...

We keep buying the same average dross season after season, that's why we end up in these discussions.

Man Utd spend big but the players they buy are quality more often than not.

Less players, more quality please.  Prevention is better than cure.

I dont think many if any clubs will be lining up to spend money come january and I suspect we´ll see transfer values at 50% of what they were 12 monthns ago. Thats right, we´d only get what Keane was worth in the first place.

Personally I´d let Bennyoon, Degen, Vorinon and half the other lads who arent going to make it, go. Cut back from 42 players to 33-35 max, trim overheads to increase flexibility to buy the people we need. Failing that get them out of loan so other clubs can pay their wages.

These are difficult times lads and we have to react accordingly.

Totally agree, our squad is way too big and it is amazing that Rafa has been allowed to do it, the wage bill at Anfield much be bloody enormous!

There must clearly be a hell of a lot more in this 42 members of the squad but these are the high profile ones I can think of. Obviously in the case of the fullback we would need to get better replacements in to take over from them but that really shouldn't be too hard.
