Transfer day - Are we gong to buy anyone?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Earlier rumours that Michael Owen could be set to return to Anfield gathered pace in the past few minutes as another striker departed Liverpool with the Ukrainian Voronin leaving for Hertha Berlin on a year long loan. It's hard to see many Reds shed a tear over this waste of space but with Torres' injury and Benitez's reluctance to play Babel through the middle you have to wonder whether a late swoop for the Newcastle goal poacher could be on the cards.

Have to laugh at this (worryingly ofcourse) :D

Man City are bidding for every superstar on the planet today. (Villa, Berbatov, Gomez (well not a superstar but 46 goals in 92 games isn't bad). Money is no longer an issue for them.

We will get left behind with the :censored: american goons.

The Ukrainian international joined the Reds twelve months ago and netted six goals in his 27 appearances for the club.

Voronin has so far failed to establish himself as a first choice regular on Merseyside and has taken up the opportunity of spending the next season in the Bundesliga.

To be honest I'd be happy if we ended up with Owen and Riera at the end of the day.

this is crazy. berbatov is a good player but over 35 million quid?? if man city are going to come in and start throwing around ridiculous amounts of money for the world's superstars then we are either further along the road towards the death of football.
