I knew Rafa would kop the blame for it from at least one person.

Explain how the CD pair cost us the goal then, genius...

Because Carra has to save Arbeloa's :censored: all night, look how far he has to go on the right leaving the centre for Riise to cover.

I blame Rafa Benitez because he took Riise on and then Risse scored the goal.

Its all Rafas fault and he be sacked and then sent to jail for this.

Aaaaaawwwwwww sh!t, put your fcking foot through RIISE...... the result is bloody hard to take, but as has been said already it is only half time. I thought the starting 11 all had very good games, MOM for me was Alonso, given just a second to look up he's phenomenol, hope that continues in the second leg.  The football we played for the first 20 minutes of the second half was the best I have seen this year, but we didn't score then, and should have taken advantage of our excellent play.

Chelsea were nothing special and we contained them quite easily, there was nothing outstanding about them, the only worry I have is that Essien will be back next week. The advantage we may have next week is that they may be stuck between two stools of not knowing whether to attack, and might try and sit back not wanting to concede. The worry is our scoring record at Stamford Bridge, I just heard we have not scored there for 8 games :(

In any case this feels like 2005 again, having to do things the hard way, about time we beat them away. The players should be well rested over the weekend, and maybe chelsea and manu will kick each other in on Saturday. After getting over this result, I'm sure the players will take confidence from their performance tonight, well played. I'm still confident we'll get past them, penalty shootout anyone?!!!

P.S  Drogba is still a cheating cunt, as is Terry for the off the ball fouls on Torres. The refereeing was poor all night, any contact was a foul.

When did we score at the Bridge last?

Lasts

Last win at Stamford Bridge : 2003/4 (W1-0)
Last time Liverpool scored ONE at Stamford Bridge : 2003/4 (W1-0)
Last time Liverpool scored TWO at Stamford Bridge : 1996/97 (L2-4)
Last time Liverpool scored TWO at Stamford Bridge and didn't lose : 1995/6 (D2-2)

Last time Chelsea reached the European Cup final : N/A

for me i thought we should have never allowed solomon calu to get his pass inside the box ,we had 2 man on him should have chopped him away ,Risse killed us but he was surrounded by 2 blue players putting pressure on him.

If this happened earlier in the match, and we drew level late, it still would be a million times better than this sickening feeling I have (and I'm sure a lot of you folks also).

It's that feeling that says - "We need to play the other 90 minutes, now!! not in 7 days"

destro wrote:Why are people asking where Sami was ? What difference would it have made, there were TWO centre halfs on the pitch already, what did you want, Sami at left back !

If JAR had left it Anelka would have scored if he had swung his right boot it could just as easily have ended up in the roof of the net.

Raffa got his team and the forced change spot on

because you put the best team on the pitch for every game and big sammi is crucial to the team both in attack and defence in games like this.....

the past has shown hypia to be instrumental to success remember inter 05

we need big solid rock type bodies in defence and sammi has shown over 10 years in the club he can handle anyone and he can go forward and score aswell......

the missing piece in the jigsaw especially when we had so many corners to the end of the game...

Carra wasn't on the right  ? He was in the box marking nobody, Arbeloa and Mascherano should have stopped the cross coming in

thats it in a nutshell, they let him turn and get the cross in, not tight enough or quick enough to stop it, switched off thinking the game was finished

Bloody Norwegians!!! :veryangry  :veryangry  :D

Riise is a clown and should never pull on the Liverpool shirt ever again. Can someone please explain to me how someone on £80k per week doesn't have a right foot to clear that ball away with, absolutely incredible!!

Now then that having been said I am confident that we will reach the final, we played badly today but still were comfortable , next week we will blitz Chelsea and will get at least one goal. I predict another penalty shoot out.

Come on lads!! whoever is goin to the away leg im sure you will anyways but i beg of you to give the red men tons of support!

Death or Glory - next week we hit them like a house brick in the choppers and rip them apart.

No point going out on the away goal so lets go out there and have some fun.

2-0 Reds.
