Yes English players fail as well, who said they didn't? I bang on about lads from these shores because they're players I see week in week out, I don't bother with european football because it doesn't concern me or Liverpool's position in the league now does it? I couldn't give a toss about how well David Villa is doing at Valencia or how badly mickey mouse is doing for LA Galaxy, it doesn't concern me. So I suggest english based players (including lads from abroad who play
You also constantly imply that signing a player from abroad is a greater risk (presumably because you 'don't like foreigners'), otherwise, you'd see no need for comments like this: "We've seen first hand how players can do it spain but not england."
No doubt you'll come out with some shit about how 'that's all I was saying' when you know very well that wasn't the implied meaning of the comment, which is and was - signing foreigners are a greater risk than British players.
Well signing a lad from abroad is a greater risk.
We sign Josemi and Kromkamp from abroad, they can't cut it, we sign Finnan from a British side (fulham in his case) and he's a great servant to the club. That's just one example.
Yes there is a risk with every little transfer, whether they come from abroad or from the British Isles. If you like, there's it's less of a risk because the don't have the excuse of "time to settle in" or "get used to the climate change", so you can be pretty sure that the player will settle down a lot quicker and there's more chance of instant success.
You sign Torres for 20 million plus, he's got to deal with the circus that comes with such a hefty transfer fee, he's got to adjust to the ways of life in Britain, he's got to learn a new language and he's got to try and adjust to the ways of the British way of football...huge risk and could easily backfire, fortunately he hasn't because he's a world class player. You sign Michael Owen for 20 million plus, he's got the same transfer fee to deal with, but he doesn't have to adjust to the football life or everyday life and he doesn't have to learn a new language. It'd be much easier for Owen (or any other British based player) to settle down and play his game than Torres (or any other lad from abroad).
Is that difficult for you to understand? I guess it probably is.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

yet another great example of your input in terms of football. how valuable your opinion must be on here.
other than saying "we should sign David Villa" which lets be honest, at least 50% of fans say anyway, I don't recall you expressing an opinion on anything to do with Liverpool Football Club, or actually football in general.
You do have an opinion on Liverpool don't you? I mean, judging by your name LFC2007, I'd assume you support Liverpool Football Club, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it stands for Lovely
' Chips, I don't know. Again I'm only assuming but judging by your lack of input in terms of football on here I think Lovely
' Chips is more appropriate.

Ronaldinho isn't the immortal superstar he was anymore and it seems like Messi is where people turn to when things aren't going right. My fear would be if he joined us, could he cope with Gerrard and Torres being bigger superstars and fans favourite more than him. I don't think he could.
I don't think he's "sulking"... what I think is that he's lost the passion... the guy has won all the major titles in world football... individual and team... what is there to win for him? nothing... absolutely nothing...
would he have the passion to succeed over here then? he's already got more money than sense, he's set up for life, wouldn't he just prefer to return to a sunny beach of brazil rather than the muddy beaches of New Brighton or Southport?
I'd still have doubts about him, should he be signed. I'd be excited because I'm aware of what he can do with a ball, but still have doubts.
Exited John youd be running up and down them hills in Formby., on the walzers in New Brighton and just to put the final touch in exitement yeh might even have a little shuffle in the Grafton cause i know i would
too right nanny, but in the back of me mind, I'd still be worried.

Well if you went down the route of a Robaldino (who would surely be a huge success in England, he is a fantastic player), it would give you the opportunity to kill a couple of birds with one stone as far as the team is concerned. Most people I guess would stick him in Gerrards current spot, and this would then give you the fredom to move the captain. If it was me tomorrow, I'd move him out to the right of midfield and our team would instantly be much stronger. That's not because I'm having a pop at kuyt BTW, but I've long been of the opinion that Gerrards best position is on the right, and that he has few equals there.
Longer term, you could sign a quality right sided player (and I personally think it's time to trade in the likes of Benayoun, Pennant etc) and play Gerrard in alongside Masherano. This would instantly alleviate the problem of the two holding players playing within five yards of each other as gerrard could bomb on and play box to box. I know that would mean Alonso being displaced, but I get the feeling that before too much longer that's an eventuality we are going to have to get used to. The other alternative of course is ronaldino could play on the left to great effect.
No doubt if we did sign him, we'd try all three eventualities within the first six weeks of the season and we'd all be feeling dizzy again
but seriously, if there was a chance to sign him I'd definately be in the "it's a good move" camp.
