Day of the Dead
No, not the excellent 1985 original classic, but the 2008 remake.
Now, firstly, to even say this is a remake is just an embarrassing insult to Romero's original script, which was often sharp and sometimes funny. This film is simply atrocious. It bears no hallmarks to the original whatsoever, save for the fact that it shares the same name and some of the character names such as Cpt. Rhodes (Ving Rhames).
Honestly, the way this film was shot smacks of cheap straight to independent cable channel's, such as Zone Horror, films that are just churned out by the number. Honestly, it's so amateur it's laughable. What's even more laughable is the zombies don't behave like your typical stiff. One would think that once you become dead that rigor mortis sets in and you become a "stiff" so to speak. Hence the shambling zombies in Romero's originals. Not these b@stards. Oh, no. Some a$$hole had the bright idea of thinking it would be better to have them as some sort of super fit athlete that can run faster than Carl Lewis, scale walls, and jump like a spider monkey at will once they get in range. One even climbed up a wall and latched himself to a ceiling and scurried along it. Yep. Spider monkey zombies. They'll get you every time. They must have been doing crack up their a$$es or something when they came up with ideas for this film.
I subsequently turned it off. I couldn't take no more. It was shockingly bad. Avoid!
