Slight aside

Saw Stallone on Jonathan Ross last night. Jonathan Ross say's , "in this movie (Rambo 4) you kill over 200 people"

Stallone replies
"Yeah, but they deserved it"

Watched "Seraphim Falls" Pierce Brosnan and Liam Neeson . A revenge/chase type cowboy movie. Starts of in a very promising manner but about mid way through becomes a bit dull . Good performances from both Brosnan and Neeson plus some spectacular scenery are the films saving grace.

dawson99 wrote:i wacthed American Ninja again last night. possibly the funniest and coolest film ever made!!!

Joe Armstrong (played geniusly by Michael Dudikoff) plays a new army recruit, who also happens to be a ninja. Lucky when the island he is stationed on is run by ninjas as well.

There are some class pieces in it where he manages to kill every ninja on the island.

11 out of 10!!!

Ha ha... American Ninja is indeed a classic! Dudikoff was one of my favourite actors when I was just a wee lad, and that was based purely on the American Ninja films  :D

Watched King Of California last night.

Starring Micheal Douglas who comes out of a mental home to live with his daughter and tries to convince her that there is treasure to find in the hills of California.

A bit slow at times but enjoyable all the same.

5/10

Finally saw Shoot 'em up with clive owen, monicca belucci (mmm) and Paul giamatti

It is the most bizarre film ever. the gun fights are simply unbelievable... the sex/shooting scene is outstanding... just a completely out of this world film. makes crank look like driving miss daisy

9/10 if you want some fast paced action

Last night I had a look at the film VACANCY starring Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale.
It started out as quite a promising flick. A couple get stranded at a motel in the middle of nowhere and start to watch some films in their room. Soon they realize that all of the videotapes they're watching are snuff movies that have been filmed in the room they are staying in. From there the film descends into your standard stalk 'n slash flick as the killers from the videotapes try to film their next sequel and it just fizzles out from there.

It'll keep you interested for the hour and twenty minutes it runs for but it's not one you'll remember for any brilliance.

Watched Rise a rather disjointed vampire movie which despite a impressive cast fails to deliver.
Though if you like Lucy Liu not wearing much you might enjoy it

Is that why you call it "Rise" then?

Did you not think his accent in it was very similar to John Huston's?

all honesty, im not a massive Daniel Day Lewis fan. I thought his character in Gangs of New York was laughable, and he could be in Eastenders and people would salivate to give him the oscar.

Theres also a load of my mates who love him as hes irish and so are they. He was born in London!!! argh

My tips now for the oscars:

Ellen Page best actress for juno (decent price, 8/1)
Tilda Swinton best supporting for Michael Clayton (was some 16s...just too big)

Day Lewis is an immense actor. Possibly the most underrated and undervalued actor alongside Mr. Depp.

I'm not saying this because I think he's Irish. Though the funny thing about that is that the first time I watched In The Name Of The Father, I genuinely thought he was. Along with Postlewait, he's been the only actor to get a Belfast accent spot on, and that says a lot for how the man can pull off various accents. I'd go as far as saying that it's probably the most difficult accent to get perfect without sounding like a bellend.

He's brilliant, and should be in more films.
