I agree Laza, very good film, probably the best I've seen so far this year.

Watched "In the Valley of Elah" , love Tommy Lee Jones , Susanne Sarandon and of course Charlize Teron but was disappointed with this one despite the generally fine performances from the cast .

Tommy Lee is looking to find out whats happenned to his son who's disappeared a few days after returning from a tour of duty in Iraq. Cue murder investigation and conflict between Army and local law enforcement.

Unimaginative storyline , corn driven script. Movie making by the numbers. :( .

That movie was so boring, I couldn't even finish it.

Watched "Gone Baby, Gone" last weekend.  Great flick

Kinda crazy at how much the kidnapped kid resembled Maddy Mcann (sp. ?)

After enjoying Coen brother's latest offering No country for old men

I watched two of their movies which are my favourites  again

Fargo and Miller's Crossing, both excellent quirky movies full of great characters

Well worth the look if you havent already

Over the last few days watched

Jumper
- entertaining enough but the trailer contained the best bits

The Assasination of Jessie James by the coward Robert Ford
- Over two and a half hours long, very slow moving and wordy western that just about held my attention , we already know Jessie (Brad Pitt) is gonna get killed (the clue was in the title :D ) it was just a question of hanging on to find out how. Well performed with great photography , the film transmits a damp climatic chill as well as the malaise that surrounds the central character . Worth seeing but not memorable.

Shoot Em Up
- Missed this first time around , Great fun ,inventive and completely over the top , loads of bullets, bodies and laughs . Clive Owen performing throughout with completely straight face just adds to the fun.

Daniel Day Lewis, was in that ... 'there will be b.lood'

The only blood there was, was mine after 2 hours of this boar fest. They should of renamed that film 'there wil be oil and thats about it'

And he got an oscar ???

Watched The Mist last night, I don't usually like too many "survival horror movies", but this was great, I really enjoyed it. Changed the ending from the book but apart from that was a cracking film. Reccommended 8/10

I watched "There must be blood" a while back and thought it was a decent film until the end.........it just seemed a little pointless at the end.

I have "Air that I breath" Bamaga, I will watch that next mate.

Just downloaded Carver.

Based on a true story, it depicts the real life events of five 20-somethings that went camping in the mountain town of Halcyon Ridge and never returned.

Only watched the first few minutes but if the rest of the film is a gruesome as this then its going to be perfect for my Friday Night Horror, the Mrs has already ran off to bed

Update*

It wasn't the best horror I have seen but in terms of gore it was worse than any of the Hostel films ! The bit in the toilets with the pliers will make any guys eyes water  :sniffle

Watched it last night... nothing short of brilliant. Probably watch it again very soon because I enjoyed it and to see if I missed anything.  I just thought it was a superb film, all the characters were brilliantly played and Josh Brolin was a real throw back - reminded me of a Clint Eastwood/Nick Nolte type character.  Javier Bardem, well what can can you say?  Menacing... played a brilliant role and the scene with the shopkeeper and the toss of a coin was class.

The ending?  It wasn't "hollywood" and that suits me just fine... class, class film.

Saw "The Invasion" Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig. Wasn't expecting much from this remake of the classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers but was pleasantly surprised and entertained . By no means a great movie but if Sci-fi is your thing, (particularly if it involves sneaky aliens taking over the world) this one's well worth the download.
