It's all a bunch of sh*t.

They have another article on there about how Cristiano Ronaldo had some Roman orgy with two hookers.

I was thinking who are our players that support Rafa? Probably the spanish speaking contingent, the rest apart from Carra and Gerrard probably think if a new manager comes in we are out the door.

So why be arsed or they are nervous at the prospect.
There would be a mass exodus because some players would want to follow Rafa to another club, or if a new man came in some of our players wouldnt be their cup of tea so they would be shown the exit door anyway.

But I have to be honest we cannot keep having a five year plan every five years, its skint the club, these players coming in that are not good enough.
Houlliers cast off where hard to sell we where still paying half their wages whilst on loan the same would happen if Rafa left with some of the squad players that are here.

We should stick with Rafa but he has to start playing our best team every single week and cut the silly mistakes out with wholesale changes of the team, and different formations.

He has been here long enough to know what worked in La Liga just doesnt work here, but if the same man can get to two Champions League finals and win one, he can also win the premier league but only if he cuts out his own mistakes and stops underestimating teams in England.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Unfortunatly its not mate, just been reading RAWK and someone who lives by Pennants dad has just confirmed that he is infact a heroine addict.

Yeah spot on there.

But somehow i think we would get a lot more interest for Benitez's players than those of Houlliers players

Ciggy wrote:I know all the behind the scenes stuff is getting to the team and to Rafa, but why arnt the players playing out their skins and fighting to keep Rafa in a job ?

I would if I didnt want my boss to leave it should be backs against the wall job and come out fighting.

We havent seen that from the lads since the Marseille game.

I hope that article what Saint posted is true and DIC take over us, them to clowns across the pond couldnt run a bath never mind one of the biggest clubs in the world.

I'm also hoping that DIC are serious about bidding for us again, these two american clowns are really not helping our situation.

But going back to the original post and the first couple of points that ciggy makes above...

why aren't the players performing and what can the manager do about it?

now the answer isnt buy in a better striker and winger like chelsea and utd would do in this situation, because we're obviously not being backed with sufficient funds to improve our squad at the moment.

That leaves us with working with what we're got. – how to get the best out of them and motivate them to the top of their game.

After that Middlesbrough stalemate and the games against man city, wigan and failure to beat Luton…how about this scenario;

Rafa speaks to his squad after the boro game back:

“Our performances have simply not been good enough. Now my methods and approaches have been well documented, but this is LIVERPOOL football club. YOU are playing for Liverpool football club.  From now on, you will EARN that chance to play for this club. Play well, you will keep you place. Put in a below par performance, and you will find yourselves on the bench. It is now up to you to PROVE to me that you deserve to wear that liverbird upon your chest. Go out there and show me why I can’t afford to drop you out of the team. Win, lose or draw, you have to give me everything you’ve got, and if you do, there’ll be a good chance you start the next game and cement you place in this incredible team. I’m changing my policy’s for the good of the club… now show me your good enough to play for LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB.”

---

Now as unlikely that is to happening…. Wouldn’t that just give the players something to think about, to motivate them, to kick on, and actually go for every 50-50 challenge, have the desire to win and keep their place in the side???

Someone at my bro's work was out with pennant, adebayor and others last week and said Pennent was totally wasted and loves the booze.  It wouldnt surprise me as pennant has always been one who loves the party life.  His always supposed to be down in London to party.

Whether it will be in time to save our season or not is another matter.Link to takeover

Maybe if they take over, Rafa will be given a war chest, a statement of support and the best present of all Parry gets to take the bullet instead. I can dream can't I ?

There is bound to be a problem at at football club when the manager knows he is doomed.

Benitez must be finding it tough keeping up the act and the players know they are taking instructions from a manager on his last legs.

Furthermore we have problems off the pitch with two owners scratting around on the other side of the world trying to get the cash together to build this new ground. They must be frantic after the promises they made and are now having great problems keeping.

Until the club gets back some sort of stability with everyone working together in a professional and focused manner then we are unlikely to see it getting much better in the short term.

The takeover was rushed through when the americans bid at the last moment after the club had all but struck a deal with DIC after months of negotiation. Right now it looks like this was a terrible error of judgement and things have gone wrong on several fronts since.

I still dont know why that happened.  It seemed that DIC were going to get the club and suddenly they wasnt. What made the club choose the yanks over DIC?
