GREAT news about Finnan and Aurelio, I guess the fitter of the two will play and Arbeloa will also play and NO RIISE :D

I feel a little bad as well, especially because I thought he was going to have a good season based on how he was playing the pre-season, but he hasn't been able to find his form this year and didn't play that great last year either.  If Aurelio and Kewell didn't have fitness issues, I think there would be no question about his departure in January.  I think Rafa will go with:
                          Reina
Finnan        Carra            Hyypia       Arbeloa
Yossi         Gerrard          Mascherano     Kewell
                    Torres        Kuyt
Subs: Itandje, Babel, Crouch, Aurelio, Lucas, Hobbs, Riise

Babel and Crouch would be guys to come on if we still need a goal, Riise and Hobbs would be extra help to defend the lead. Aurelio and Lucas could be used for either. If you take off Finnan for Lucas, Gerrard can cover up and down the whole right flank while Yossi can move waaay up the pitch and more central to help break them down and deliver the killer pass to Torres (or Kuyt) OR Lucas could come on for Yossi and move Gerrard right for a really solid  midfield once we have the lead.  Aurelio could come on for Kewell to sure up the defense, or on for Finnan, Arbeloa, or Hyppia (moving Arbeloa central) and bomb forward from the back left to send balls in for Crouch

I completely agree. And, furthermore, I believe this is our strongest lineup with the possible exception of Kuyt. I think that I would prefer Crouch in there but it is always a toss up between Crouch and Kuyt.

And, keep Riise at Melwood to run around a bit.

Id swap Aurelio instead of Arebola and Lucas instead of Mashcerano.  Thats my best 11 for the job.

Marsielle 0  v   Liverpool 2
                    Gerrard "pen" 13
                    Torres 42

Come on you mighty reds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it wasn't going to be his first game back from a bit of a knock I would probably agree, because he offers more in crossing and is naturally left footed.  I can see why Lucas would offer more in a game that we NEED to win and breakdown, but Mascherano is more solid for me and has more experience, plus he might allow Gerrard to play more freely

I dont get a good feeling about this game.

After what happend at the wekend i am not sure our team are in the right frame of mind for this game.
they must feel that not only is it a must win to stay in the CL but i sure some must see it as a must win to keep their boss.

this is gong to be a hard game but as we are liverpool i am sure we will see our best side tonight and win well.
