and City drew, I'll take that. Never thought arsenal were going to do anything other than win.

Great win and performance today, thanks to the Newcastle fans for spurring Stevie on.

Is this true about Rafa at the end of the game ?

Rafael Benitez refused to follow his bosses’ orders as he once again publicly aired his misgivings.

Speaking after seeing his side stroll past Newcastle with a 3-0 win, Benitez said he was “very pleased” with the performance.

But it was the Liverpool manager’s revelations of his continued spat with the club's owners, George Gillett and Tom Hicks, that raised a few eyebrows.

Responding to a question regarding his argument with the American duo, Benitez responded by insisting the owners don’t understand the European football market.

“I think they don’t understand the transfer window in Europe,” said the Spaniard.

“They need to know and understand how to sign players who are free, that we have to do it early and quickly.

“That is how the market works.”

Asked about his midweek comments on the England vacancy, Benitez laughed off suggestion that he intended to put his name forward for the role.

“No, it wasn’t serious,” Benitez chuckled, before returning to the subject of the friction between him and the owners.

“They need to understand the way the market works. I am trying to do what is best for the club, MY fans know that and I will keep doing it.”

With Hicks and Gillett insistent that they want results with their current investment before speaking of more, one wonders how long it is before we have a response from the other side!

Although I agree with what he has said I am not sure G and H will appreciate his comments ! ???

Probably as they reckon Lampard played better plus scored the pen.

To be honest as skippr Stevie should have taken it not Frank Lampard.
