NEWCASTLE VS LIVERPOOL - 24th November 12.45 ko

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby RichardLFC1 » Tue Nov 13, 2007 9:03 pm

Unlike last season our away form hasnt been too bad winning 4 and drawing 2. St james park will be a hard place to come though and with strikers like Owen and Martins our defence needs to be on the best form.

I think the fulham game will give the team confidence especially as he named an unchanged one after the 8-0 demolition of beskitas.

Torres who came on and scored will have to start in my opinion as he is our best forward by a long shot and i think he is needed. With Agger still out injured i think the back four should remain the same as i think Finnan hasnt been his tremendous self of late.

Midfield Gerrard is a must and in the centre and as Alonso is still out injured Mascherano to partner him. Benayouns and so is Pennant so ithink Babel should come in at RM and i would like to see Kewell get his first start of the season on the left.

As i said earlier Torres must start. Crouch i think he is far to weak for this game but Voronin has P!ssed me off lately especially missing that 1on1 against fulham. Kuyt will have to be a starter for me as i think himself and Torres make a great partnership.

Newcastle are a good team and make no mistake they will be a tough team to beat

My team

Reina

Arbeloa
Carragher
Hyypia
Aurelio

Babel
Gerrard
Mascherano
Kewell

Torres
Kuyt

id say 2-0 Kuyt and Torres

I disagree i think newcastle looked especially weak dealing with the high balls against portsmouth so I would go with a bit of a mix with crouch and torres (heard he is not off with spain great news!!!!)

so reina

arbeloa carra hyypia aurelio

babel masch gerrard kewell

crouchy El nino!

3-0 given there recent poor game and our high confidence (fingers crossed for the int break hopefully no injuries)

richard, why on earth would you select kuyt, have the PL suddenly decided to give extra points for running around a lot with no end product

In time for this game.  Going to be going to it, very excited.

Reina
Finnan Agger Carragher Arbeloa
Yossi  Gerrard  Mascherano Kewell
               Torres Crouch

I can't see them causing us any problems, Agger will mark Owen out the game.  0-2 Reds.

Not going to put a team in just yet, just hope Agger gets back or we'll be defending on the six yard line with  their pace. Torres and Crouch up front though.
Dont judge a book by the cover, unless you cover just another, because blind exceptance is a sign,

Well some crucial international games coming up so I will keep my team selection to a bare minimum due to potential injuries etc etc etc.

They have a very bad defence at the moment so keep them on there toes. They will play with a high line so pace is the order of the day so Torres is a must with either Crouch or Kuyt playing in the box and have Torres running at the defence. They will :censored: a brick, Gerrard also bombing on. Mascherano to start alongside Gerrard. Keep it tight at the back and we should be ok.

well the same can be said for voronin...

but yeah as much as I don't like crouch... I will start him in this match... let him wear down the newcastel defenders... then bring on kuyt or voronin when they tire...
