So I've credited Houiller bringing through Fowler who was brought in by Souness, 5/6 years before Houiller. Owen brought through in 97, 2 years before Houiller was given sole charge of Liverpool, Carra brought through in 97, 2 years before Houiller was given sole charge of Liverpool. Gerrard was given his debut by Houiller but he didn't find him and I don't believe I said he did. As for Murphy it was Dario Gradi who found him from our nursery club Crewe.

As for me comparing Robbie of last year to 2000/01, I didn't compare the two different players. Alls I did was prove the fact that Robbie Fowler was at both Houiller's and Bentiez' disposal. I never once said it was the same Robbie Fowler.

Of course we all know that Rafa had both these players at some point. I think when saying "Houllier had Fowler and Owen at his disposal" people assumed everyone would know that they were taking into account how the players abilities have changed over time. It was fairly obvious.

Back to topic , Well done richard , it's silly season mate and every close season it's the same on here opinions are made in haste sometimes and comments made and jumped on . The footy season will soon be here.

Yes it was obvious, I wasn't disputing that, all I was saying was both managers had both Fowler and Owen at their disposal. Doesn't seem to difficult to understand my point.

As for Igor's post, I think this season rotation will go either way. Either Rafa keeps to a set 11 and those aiming for places in their respective 2008 European Championship squad who aren't in the 11 will move on along with others who aren't in the 1st team plans. Or Rafa will keep his rotation policy which p!sses everyone off, including players, because they can't build up relationships with one another on the pitch. If it's the 1st of my 2 suggestions then we could lose 4, 5 or even 6 internations come January and if it's the 2nd suggestion, it will be another year gone by were we have fallen a good deal short of the eventual champions.

Whats the point of saying 'well Rafa had Owen and Fowler too' when referring to Houllier?? Clearly saying that both had the same players at their disposal.

Which is untrue, Rafa did not have both of them at the same time, a knackered 2006-7 version of Fowler is not the same as the one in 2000, and a disillusioned Owen ready to leave the club. Its a pointless comparison by gbjh

but the fact is that rafa did have both owen and fowler at his disposal, i dont see why there is an argument about it, he sold owen and brought fowler back, its not really relevent as far as i can see if they are the same player as years ago, thats not the point he was making
