no he did it with Cisse. He won't spend 27 million punds on a striker to put him on the wing.

At least I hope he wouldn't.

He only did that with Cisse because he was an arrogant :censored: who would not play with the team, anyway he did not learn anything from that position and thats why that waste of space has no place in liverpool.

I honestly think Kewell will have a really good season... he certainly owes us one.. He has a new contract to think about aswell but I really think this could be the season we finally see the Leeds player of old...

I too have some doubts whether this thing will work or not, but anyhow he's a Liverpool player now and I'll support him no matter what.

Answering your question of where's he going to play, I think that for that money he has to do well even if he's put as a goalkeeper  :)

If he doesn't do well then it won't be his fault, but Rafa's as he's the one who has decided to spend that amount of money for Torres.

There's a lot of expectation around Torres, hope he does well.

I'm pleased with this buy. Torres has the potential to be a real superstar player if all goes well. I think some people on here are talking negatively without any real basis, but by the same token some are praising him before he has done anything. We need to support him and judge him by his performances on the pitch. I get the feeling that some people are saying this or that just to be able to say "I told you so" and that isn't very helpful.

Torres, in Spain, had a decent enough scoring record and did so in a team that has struggled, especially when compared with the neighbours. We have things that Atletico don't, we can provide Torres with aspects of the game that he did not have in Madrid and we have a manager with a brain so big its made the hair from the front of his head crawl down to his chin! :D

Torres in a Red shirt will be a different player to the Torres who wore a red & white shirt. Cisse had a phenomenol record in France and couldn't cut it over here, the same goes for Morientes. But Alonso has, and Garcia did and there have been more success stories come into this club than failures. The money is big, we think, but you have to speculate to accumulate, no risk, no reward. He has the name, he has the potential and under Rafa and with Stevie, he'll have the guidence. And if he clicks with Crouch or Kuyt, we could be onto a real winner here.

Like I said, judge him on the field. Everyone on here should be able to recall who it was who said "Paper teams win paper cups." so don't judge him on his stats because you'll feel like a mug if he nets 20 or more this coming season. And don't judge him on Spanish form because we ain't in Spain.

I might feel like a mug 1 second, then happy because that means it's good for Liverpool.

I felt much worse when i had all the confidence of the world on Morientes and the he did a Morientes :D

But your main point is right. We have to judge him in the pitch, not elsewhere! and FWIW he has all my support!! Come on Towers!!
