You cant satisfy some people.........Would everyone that claims  Torres isnt one of the Top Players in the world and that they would be disappointed if he was our only major signing ...please buy yourself a bottle of " cop on """ I genuinely didnt think i would ever see a player from a foreign country ( ie didnt grow up with lfc in their blood)of his class, reputation or skill play for us....because iv grown used to the likes of titi camara....erik miejer ( whatever his name is) emile heskey,,  reidler.....crouch ( proved he's very good but still not lfc )  kuyt ( grand;....... 3rd forward maybe)  etc etc smicer , sinama , la tallec etc .......id hate for the torres on the off chance he would be bothered to look around on a few on these websites and see the amount of negative people........really negative..maybe its just your mindsets in general ......get on your high horses....Manure , Barca , Chelsea , iNTER have all wanted him in the past.......his situation this year means that he needs to move or he'll just be another Matt Le Tiss, happily we are the one of the only top clubs in the position to buy him......... barca have henry.....real know he'll never play for them , manure cant afford him,,,,chelsea wanted him last yr but arent spending big this summer ( yet ) in an attempt show people they dont buy their trophies.....inter and italia dont interest him as he has already said italian football is boring,........... so even though i sound ratty, just Enjoy the entire idea that a really promising ( world at his feet ) star wants to leave his boyhood club for Lfc.........

Garcia must want a move back to Spain, we score too few goals from midfield and for me its sad to see him go. Will always remember his strike against Juventus it was almost as good as Hyypia's. Juventus could not live with us for a lot of that game, thanks to some great off the ball running from Le Tallec. (Curls into a ball and waits for the abuse :P )

Going back a few years, I really wished that Litmanen had more game time for us, he was such a smart player.

Almost as good as Hyypia's? Garcia's was a 25 yard lob while Hyypia had half the goal to aim for from 4 yards away.

Ahh I forgot to add. Anyone thinking of getting rid of Kuyt will be singing his name after this season.

Yes I rate Hyypia's goal better than Garcia's. Both where great goals not trying to take anything away from Garcia's. But the way the ball bounced up for Garcia I would fancy a whack at that to be honest.

This isnt an attack but is it possible that Sabre ( who i have always enjoyed reading his posts) has a problem with Torres, he seems to claim Torres is over rated. for example- my own experience.....GAA in ireland.. i am from Kerry but i hold a grudge against great players in our capital purely because of geographical location and friendly rivalry.... galician / castilian rivalry may be the reason why he has a problem with torres...... people beleive him because he is spanish ....but lets not forget we all have sky and with revista de la liga we all have just as much access to Spanish matches....... Wasnt Gonzales supposed to be great....dont know who generated that idea in our head??!

Just pulled this from Marca:

"Principio de acuerdo Liverpool-Atlético por Torres
Según ha anunciado Telemadrid, el Liverpool y el Atlético de Madrid ya han llegado a un princicio de acuerdo por Fernando Torres en una operación en la que entraría Luis García y en la que los rojiblancos ingresarían 32 millones de euros por la venta de el 'Niño', aunque el Atlético exige guardarse un derecho de tanteo sobre Torres. Ahora, la última palabra la tiene el jugador."

I haven't spoken a word of real Spanish for years, but I think this is just a reiteration of the rumour that we've all been hearing already. Deal agreed in principal, Garcia going the other way, Torres sad to leave, but knows he has to go, blah, blah, blah... Perhaps Sabre can give us a proper translation?

torres was quality, if spain went the whole way he would have been player of the tournament

and i dont buy into the "well diouf was good at the world cup and look how he turned out"

diouf hadnt been tried and tested in a decent league, so at the world cup defenders gave him space and time cause of his reputation

Diouf was never that great in France either though.  proper strange signing by GH, no idea why he spent £10m on him.

Yes The Ace, that's pretty much the translation, although according to that article Atletico de Madrid wants a fee so that if Torres ever comes back to Spain, They'll have first option for the player.

IMHO that clause in the fee is in order to appease the outraged fans, but for that money, I don't think Liverpool should agree whatsoever.

Because by the time he signed him, along with Diao (£5million? More like £5.), Houllier was mad! Pele had put him in his world 100, Wenger had probably told Houllier that he was top quality and he could spend money like a drunken Wag! Rafa is not Houllier, thank God.

(p.s. Please, no-one post that pic of that year's summer signings. I can't take it)

we should be targeting mancini or vicente or malouda...a top class left winger would make us look like a team meaning business next season !

Malouda has told Lyon he wants to move to Chelski

"I have told Lyon that I want to play for Chelsea," Malouda is quoted as saying in the Mirror.

We nearly had him tho! I dont think enough intrest was shown.

I think the reports from the mirror are BS too be honest.  There is nothing inside of France saying anything like this.

It does seem that We have dropped interest though as Chelsea are the only team to make an official bid.  Lyon have always said that anybody wanting to leave Will have to go by end of June so Malouda has till sunday to get a deal done.

Torres on his way!

Looks like next week, we'll have a new player if the Echo's got its fact straight.
