If Finnan had been fit Arbeloa would have played at left back with Riise in front of him. But since Riise is vulnerable when playing at left back Rafa has decided to play Zenden out there who is far more defensively astute and disciplined that Gonzo, the fact we are playing at Stamford Bridge also is a factor.

Strange choice Zenden but there has to be a reason behind it, maybe hes more disciplined than Gonzo ?

Lets just look forward to spanking them and pick the team selection apart AFTER the match

2-0 Zenden to get both :rasp

i said this about a week ago maybe because we were here 2 years ago and the fact that it is an all English game, i dunno

exactly. Since we sold warnock, and aurelio, kewell and garcia are all injured, we only have 3 left sided players: Riise, Zenden and Gonzalez. Gonzo hasnt hit form, and is certainly not as defensively minded as zenden. So i dont think its a bad choice - considering the options we have....
