Bad Bob has it right..... Show the players the offers, if they wanna go, let 'em go, if not, bin the faxes and get on with running the club...... 'nuff said.

If both were in central midfield, I'd tell both these teams to take a running jump..... Having said that, I'm still not convinced that the egos of both thes men can make it possible for them to play as a partnership effectively

If Rafa cannot get it through his skull to put Gerrard back where he belongs IMO, then I'd have to say Gerrard....
The manager makes the final call on how he wants his team to play and Rafa has made it plainly clear that Alonso and Momo is the heartbeat of choice in his midfield engine room.....

Even though I don't agree with Rafa's selection or choices of late, in order for LFC to play in the manner he desires, then TODAY I'd reluctantly say "Gerrard" if I have no choice.

Plus something seems to be going on with Stevie... he doesn't seem to be himself lately and the Gerrard on show at the moment, troubles me with the current attitude he exhibits.... Maybe head swelling just a little or perhaps frustration for being out of his favoured position?

Who knows?

Alonso makes us tick, but Gerrard makes us explode. (Saint)

Exactly right!

Too much information, mate.  Save it for the Smeg thread if you feel the need to share.  :D

It's next summer. Liverpool have just finished 5th in the Premiership and went out of the cups at an early stage. You're Rafa Benitez and you've got two faxes in your hand - one from Chelsea offering £40M for Gerrard, and one from Real Madrid offering £25M for Xabi.

What do you do?

eat a mint cornetto with the other hand n wipe my ar.se with both the faxes
we've only won it 5 times

Take the 25k for Xabi.Although it would be a gamble.

The club would be fu------- stupid to let Gerrard go.Over all I reckon he would be worth alot more than 40m.

No player is bigger than the club but he is Liverpool
