Current england team - Who would you have at liverpool

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Looking at the main team that SGE is putting out against France. Who would any of you have at Liverpool. I think (apart from MO and SG of course) that John Terry and Frank Lampard are the only ones I would really want to see at Liverpool. I am not even sure about Sol.

Campbell, Terry, Cole, Scholes, Beckham and Rooney.

All of those would improve our team.

Out of that lot who's a realistic target???

Fecking none of em.... next topic!

The way Everton have been going I wouldn't rule out Rooney as a viable target. Can't see him wanting to play in the 1st division.

Why? What is wrong with swedes, poles, irish, italians or russians? English players are overrated and expensive. We should introduce more flair, creativity and technique in our team. Then we should be looking at Brazilians, Argentinians....

agree with that statement completely. I'll give you some examples:

for me beckham is a very good player but is by no means world class, as i have explained in another thread.

rooney has the potential but is being completely overhyped and overrated before portugal. how many goals has the guy scored for everton? it's too much for us to pin our hopes on this kid. against japan he was more interested in looking for a fight than scoring.

sol campbell is a very good solid defender, due to his immense physical presence. however these days it is about more than that if you want to be an international class defender. you have to be confident on the ball and bringing it out from the back. campbell is not this. woodgate and rio are.

david james, kieron dyer, gary neville, phil neville, darius vassell, ledley king, emile heskey are all extremely overrated and just aren't international class imo.

apart from that, i think we have a great chance of winning euro 2004! :D

I'm just glad GH has gone, otherwise we'd be flooded with Latvians.

I agree, england have some good players but being english seems to double your price tag for some reason, RIO? good player but 28m, no way! Heskey (nuff said)

I think one of the main reasons why most top teams are flooded with foreign players are that young english players are priced out of the market. What top team will buy Dawson for £ 5 mio? Wenger signed Toure for less than £ 1 mio.
