Sure, but the Brazilians aren't known for defense!

Seriously, anything can happen but I expect it to be a tight game with two such organized, cagey teams. There will be very few chances and which ever team takes theirs will prevail 1-0, IMO (still have a gut feeling it'll be France). I'm not expecting a classic--at least until extra time anyway!

It'll be interesting to see if fatigue becomes a factor because it's been hot in Germany. If the match goes into extra time, will the older French team have the legs to keep going? I think Italy wins in extra time 1-0 on a counterattack.

I think Italy will win. I think they have a great blance between attack and defence, and with Cannavaro on top form France will struggle to find a goal IMO. Italy 1-0 would be my prediction.

However I would like to see one of the greatest players of all time (Zidane) go out on a high.

France 1-0, they are a cert to win, its destiny as i was on my way to the bookies before the World cup to put 50 quid on them at 14/1 when i ran into some mates who talked me out of it and got me to put my money on Argentina instead. So fate is laughing at me and France will win and i lose out on 700 quid.

1-0 italy. Italy will attack france hopefully and there defence will be good enough to stop the likes of henry and ribery on the counter. Henry wont get a sniff with cannavaro on him and if both italian full backs bomb forward like in recent matches it should be a decent game. The french will sit back with zizou trying to produce a bit of magic for france to nick it. I think it could be cagey at first but will open up in the final 20 minutes, an early goal wouldnt go a miss :;):

France 3 - 2 Italy

In extra-time with Zidane getting a hat-trick, Luca Toni scoring twice.... Henry sent off for diving, Gattuso sent off for biting....

Oh and for good measure, Totti to hit the post twice, bounce off Buffon's noggin and go for corners....

That's what I hope to see anyway.... but likely to be a dour affair with 1 goal enuff to separate the the 2 teams. France to edge it in 90 mins.

France 2-1 Italy

I think that experience will pervail, most of the France squad have won the World Cup and European Championships. They've been there, done that and got the t-shirt. Everyone wrote France off, except for the French (obviously) and they've been a big surprise. They started off as has beens and suddenly out of nowhere they've upped gear and won matches against big teams.

Marco Materazzi scroed with a great a header and Luca Toni just headed onto the cross bar, cud of been 2-1 to Italy. France just don't seem to be able to defend corners, Italy are outjumping the French defenders.
