Well, I'm not convinced it's easy to find a better striker than Cisse and therefore I think there's a good chance he'll stay.

Agree. I have seen enough of him. It shouldn't be hard to find a replacement. The Short Welshman is a similar player to Cisse, but he is much stronger tactically and he is a much better finisher.

The short Welshman being who? Owen? (though of course he's not Welsh). Don't think we'll get him.

Sell Cisse to the barcodes, buy Defoe from Spurs.

Probably make a profit by the end of that string of transactions.

From there, it's all about finding a WORLD CLASS STRIKER.

I'm not giving up hope of getting Fernando Torres, especially considering that Chelski is focusing all their attention (read: money) on getting Shevchenko.

I have the feeling that Rafa would happily offload Cisse, but as he's a good manager at the correct prize. And given what we paid for Cisse I just find complicated someone will reach the correct prize. (BTW is it prize, or price    )

There were rumors flying around that Newcastle would take him off our hands in the Guardian's Rumour Mill section one day.  I hope it's true, because it's not like we'd have to worry about him scoring on us  :rasp

Nando, Cisse and Pongelle could all be gone.  Thats 3 strikers Rafa has to find.  Now considering Nando has gone and I'm pretty certain Pongelle is off as their is no way he will put up with a season like last I think Cisse could end up staying.

Most teams operate with 4 strikers maximum in the squad (hence Pongo's loan once Robbie arrived).  As such, I think Rafa will be looking for 2 strikers this summer, not 3.

He's got Crouch and Robbie for sure.  Nando's gone for sure and his position will need to be filled.  Beyond that, he has a decision to make about both Cisse and Pongo but even if he sells them both I suspect he'll only bring in 1 additional forward.

4 strikers with 2 being Crouch and Fowler would would worry me. I know people like crouch but for me he is nowhere near good enough.  Fowler is good but could he do the buisness week in week out?

Another thing which Rafa may find in selling Cisse is he doesnt have to go.  By that I mean I dont think Cisse will just go to anyteam that matches an asking price.  i.e Newcastle would be a club I would find Cisse hard going to.  Not in Europe, never going to be in the CL. Why would he go their?  I think if Cisse does go it will be to a club that he would like to join rather than a club LFC would like to sell him to.  i.e. Marsielle or maybe Lyon.

Fowler is a top class footballer with tremendous ability in many area's. What he lacks in physical ability he makes up for immensely in technical ability, tactical awareness and finishing prowess.

I am sick of hearing the "he's not fit", he can't do it consistently rubbish. He's a class act and thats the end of the discussion.

Yet again, you have ago at Crouch in defence of your beloved Cisse. Cisse is not and never will be good enough. He is an average premiership footballer, simply down to the fact he's an excellent athlete. Once that athletisism goes you are effectively looking at a league 1 or 2 player. His technical skills are very poor and his game awareness is shockingly bad for a player that was once valued at 14m.

He's scored 19 goals this season, most of which were poor quality goals against lesser sides where he's simply got lucky, IE a handball, a poor piece of goalkeeping, a defender slipping, a lucky cross that ends up in the net... The only quality goals he's contributed to this season where in the FA cup final with a world class finish and Gerrard's counter attacking goal against Newcastle at st james park.

Crouch may not be everyones cup of tea, we missed the boat with another big man in the premier league who is twice the player, but thats another story. Crouch still contributes and is a decent player. Cisse will never ever be good enough for this club. His awareness and ball retention are simply not good enough to play at a club of this standard.
