Rafa's orders. When he does though, he's never wide enough.

And he always tries the same trick...'Knock the ball around the player and chase it'. You would think the boy had no skill.

The back 5 formation is perplexing. It has caught us out on many occasions, and if it is not corrected, we will concede another. That being said, the midfield are losing the ball too often. Kewell hasn't done much, neither has Cisse, however Cisse is playing little better than Kewell.

Crouch has no real support. Once again, a lone striker can't lay the ball to nobody, there is no prong attack. Cisse and Kewell aren't coming into the middle enough, seeing as Gerrard and Hamman are tied to the mid.

Back 5 is worrying me.

Feel we will grind out a 2-1 win.

I think Kewell is doing all right getting free down the left. He just needs more service. Cisse has never been comfortable down the right and probably needs to come more central with Kromkamp staying wide right.

Yes.

But towards the end of the half, just lost way a bit.

Tackles are starting to fly in harder, and we were somewhat caught out in the air. Hyypia should have challenged better. The back 5 look all over the place.

Mighty goal by Gerrard.

I think they need to try him a bit further back, knock a long ball in front of him and let him use his speed to burn off Elliott.

Coz him and Warnock are getting plenty of space down that left side. Whereas the right is quite a bit more stifled.

i dont like this back 5 formation either. i say push kromkamp up to the rw and let cisse partner crouch as an out-and-out striker... why make him play out of position constantly - even when there's only one other striker on the pitch.

To have a back 5... when we havent used it all season must be hard for them to adapt. we would be a much stronger force, and averyone would know their place in a 442

Diclaimer: I like Kewell.

But he doesn't need more service, what he needs is to realise that being good in one on ones, doesn't mean he has to dribble always. Ah, and he needs to provide service, not to receive it. :) I say this, because with a little details he would be better than what he already is, and he has many good things.

The fact is that even Reina can't decide on which balls to come for, seeing as we haven't played this formation. And twice, its nearly coughed up.

Anyway, its good to have a more technical striker paired with a speedster, defence can't push up or play deep.

Go 4-4-2. Best formation if you're playing a few irregulars.

We are playing very well just keep it up for the second half and we should score another 1 or 2, they will come out looking for more goals so it will leave space at the back

Fair point, he cetainly doesn't cross it enough for Crouch.
Seems to leave the crossing for Warnock.
