We knocked ourselves out

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

when cisse plays as a striker, for some strange reason, he will have more clear chances than any of the other strikers.. so why not play him as a striker, putting morientes will not help at all.. he doesn't want to ball and will not score in season again.
can i know the odds for him not scoring this season? cause i will bet big money on it.

But the million dollar question is will Rafa sell Morientes?
I dont think he will TBH.

but these players (Moro, Cisse and Crouch) are paid :censored: loads to put a ball in a net why cant they even do that?

As for Traore hes gotta go i can do better and i have a wooden leg (J/K),  this idiot is a liability.

oh come on jesus dont start with this Baros cr.ap! Yeah he use to run his socks off, half the time he didnt know where the :censored: he was going.  THE LAD WASNT GOOD ENOUGH!  Rafa got it spot on to get rid of him.

Yes we have an issue in front of goal, Rafa will sort it out dont you worry.

hey redman i wasnt knocking rafa hes the boss of the team and ill stand by his choices if you know what i mean?!

all i was saying is that i couldnt understand why, in my eye Baros ws good, i know he would flop a few times but he did score goals and he is a threat in front of goal.

Alright guys n gals, just got back from the match. Laughin my ar$e off in the taxi at some fella saying Madrid are welcome to Benitez on Radio Merseyside. Quality

Here's my tupence....

Come on guys!! It's one game! We were sh!t - simple as. We missed Hamann's security in the midfield and Morro was his usual lazy self. Traore is simply awful - made a point of watching him and his positional sense, decision making and overall play is diabolical. The tactics were all wrong, the substitutes come too late and fair play Benfica, you done us a right kipper, you deserved it.

Lets now look at the bigger picture.

We've lost 8 games in all competitions this season (WCC doesn't count).

We were second in the league at the weekend for the first time in about 4 years.

We're on course to keeping our best defensive record in the Prem.

Bar the Ar$e, we've got a decent run of games left to play and we have a real chance of making the FA cup final.

Let's get a hold of ourselves. this season ain't over by a long shot and there is plenty to look forward to. We will get new players, we will get more goals and we will win more trophies. Simple as.

1 Goal from 4 of our strikers in 44 games that says it all. "Combined". We have nothing up front Morientes has to go i would even throw him in the reserves to get some confidence, But be all and end all is, he is not suited to this league, Even playing in europe where he should be scoring is just not happening. Cisse should be given a run up front now. But hey nevermind look forward to a new strike force next season because we despoo need it.

Over 180 minutes of football, against a distinctly average Benfica side, the player that looked most like scoring for us was Jamie Carragher. That sums the two games up for me.

It was probably the most disappointing pair of performances in Europe since Celtic knocked us out of the UEFA a few years back.

We weren't great at the back today, but it's not like we did enough to justify taking it into extra time anyway.

As far as I'm concerned - gutted, average performance by several players, no cutting edge up front, and that's the end of it really. We've got to move on from this and see the fixture list out. Our scoring problems are well-documented, but dwelling on it isn't particularly helpful because we're stuck with what we've got until summer now.

And if Chelsea fans get on your backs about tonight, just count up to 5 out loud and remind them that it's better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all.

Oh well Im off to bed, I still love them with all my heart anyway, and Ivor is right the only player trying to score on that pitch tonight was Carra.
If only our dreams came true hey a team of Carra's.
Take it easy guys we will stand up and brush ourselves down from this defeat but harsh harsh words need to be spoken to the forwards in future.
Cause the future of our club depends on them delivering.
Take it easy nite xxxxxxx

man, i and i think the majority of supporters have given Cisse a chance not only him moro too, listen to put it bluntly their not scoring their not even performing to liverpools standards, how many chances do they need? they are not worthy of the liverpool shirt or MONEY.

I agree with CIGGY, as a Liverpool supporter for 25 years I have been blessed....through the years I have had Rush and Aldridge and as they came to the end Fowler and Owen came in....now? Well on paper we have four of the best stikers in the game, a mix of English strength and determination in Crouch, a lethal natural finisher in Fowler, experienced European quality and aerial threat in Moro and a young fast exciting finisher in Cisse...but they can't buy a goal and have shown total ineptitude infront of goal...I am honestly worried and it is rare for me to say this but I feel a substantial investment in the transfer market this coming off season is a must.

Good luck to Benfica, you didn't deserve to go through, but maybe some people said that after we won a few CL games last year, and we all know what happened after that.

We need the FA Cup now, cannot be going trophyless, trip out to Cardiff would be nice.
