I completely agree. I don't expect it to be what the majority think. It won't be a cricket scoreline, they will be up for it more than for any game this season because they've been :censored: and need a reasult. Along with the fact that it's a derby.

Regardless of how bad their results have been of late  Everton will allways be up for a derby simply to get one over us , its as if they only survive for these games.

Great game by our back 4.  I thought they were really efficient and battled for every ball in the air.  Newcastle had next to no chances.

We played well but missed too many chances. Owen hardly got a kick and Gerrard scored a wonderful goal.

I was more impressed by Shay Given because of how he played in a defensively poor side, he made so many saves and the way he has been playing is reminiscent of Iker Casillas of Real Madrid, who had time and again saved madrid from conceding heavily.

It was quite funny how the crowd cheered upon seeing Titus Bramble being intorduced and cheered loudly again when the announcer made the sub announcement.

we played well today. No complain about that, but just remember that Newcastle is a very disorganised team at this moment...

They couldn't have done more than they did. Owen never had a sniff all game, Newcastle had 1 attempt from 30 yards. We should have scored about 5 AT LEAST, could have been 7 or 8 in all reality.

The only thing wrong was finishing, for you to critisize/play down that today shows what kind of "supporter" you are and what your level of football knowledge is... VERY LIMITED.

Trying to have a swing at me again?

I was only trying to explain that we played a bottom half team at home. Newcastle is not a good team anymore. That's all.

Gotta say I think people on here are being a bit silly about Newcastle and their manager. It didn't work out for Souness at Anfield, no argument from me on that one but his record stands up over the years. Clearly he's no Bob Paisley, but he was mega successful at Rangers prior to joining us. He left us and went on to be very successful at Southampton by their standards. He took Blackburn into the Premiership when Jack Walkers millions had long since been frittered away, and then kept them there without ever really getting involved in any relegation scraps. At Newcastle he inherited a dressing room in conflict, with Bellamy and Robert chucking dummies out of the pram left right and centre. It seems to me he has bought averagely with Parker, Owen and Emre being good buys, Boummsong and Lucque (although it's early to really tell much about the winger) looking like stinkers.
I think Newcastle will finish in the top eight. I think Souness is a decent enough manager and for those old enough to remember was at least the equivalent of Steven Gerrard as he is today when he played for us, and probably a slightly better player in truth. I also think that yesterday was a top performance. It's not "getting carried away" to say that, it's simply the truth.

Cant agree Mick on his management style or capabilities teams like Southampton,Birmingham,WBA etc are his limit. You mention his success at Rangers a blind one legged Gerbil could have done what he did up there but back then his name attracted talent like Gazza,Wilkins,Hately etc to Scottish Football .In a real league like the premiership or a very aggressive league like in Turkey he has failed....
As a footballer i thought he was the guvnor and possibly the best midfielder we have ever had including Gerrard........but as a manager with an open cheque book i wouldnt want him any where near my club.He ruined our club, bootroom etc and its taken many years to recover from the mess he left.

was very surprised when he got the job at Newcaslte.  Minaly because he was doing nothing at Blackburn and was looking like he was going to get the sack there anyway.

Alright Phil mate? I agree he ballesed it up well and truly with us Phil, bit his record elsewhere aint all that bad. When he went to rangers, Celtic were very much in the ascendancy and Sounness was the first Scottish manager to realise the potential of bringing quality English players up to Glasgow. He bought well and built a good team, one which comfortably took care of the English Champions Leeds when they ran into each other in the European Cup.
In Turkey, the Galtasaray (I think) fans loved his demonstrative style, particularly the bit where he stuck their flag into the centre circle after beating their rivals in a local derby.
Whens all said and done though Phil, I don't really give a sh!te about the bloke as a manager either way. Maybe he ain't the manager I think he is, but I'm not having it that they are garbage like some numpties on here are saying. They are better than many in what is an average Premier League this year.
BTW mate, I agree with you on him as a player. Absolutely unbelieveable.
