From a Brazilian webpage. It is not a very reliable webpage though. It's funny the capacity of Sydney's stadium. How can this club have more than 50.000 fans if it was founded 2 years ago? LOL

Aussie stadium (now renamed Telstra Stadium) is the stadium built for the 2000 Sydney Olympic games.

The 50,000 capacity that you have listed is also questionable as it is the same stadium that hosted Australia's 2nd leg W.C qualifier against Uruguay and that crowd was offically listed in excess of 83,000.

:D

Since when did the East Coast of US become halfway across the world from UK? Take some geography classes tit.

The point is never having been to Liverpool (or England for that matter), never having ever watched a premiership football match live means that you are not in a position to judge whether it is too far for the club.

If you knew anything about the club, you will know that we have tried to win this cup  and never succeeded. You would not know this however because firstly you are an idiot, and more importantly a couple of years ago you supported Real Madrid.

An idiot who has never travelled, living life through the internet, flip flops the team he supports every few years (depending on who is winning) re-hashes every opinion he reads including slang terms and makes it his own is irrelevant.

tit?? The only time you have seen one of those is when your mother is serving lunch.

Still a virgin?

The team I would like to see on Thursday, considering all the inavailabilities (Hamann might not be available for the first game):

                Dudek

Raven  Josemi  Traore  Warnock

Pongolle  Sissoko  Alonso  Riise

          Cisse  Crouch

SUBS: All the other players.

And on Sunday:

                   Reina

Finnan  Carragher  Hyypia  Riise

Gerrard  Hamann  Alonso  Kewell
                 Garcia
                Morientes

SUBS: All the other players.

Final Score

Sydney FC 0 -1 Deportivo Saprissa.

Sydney were the better side for most of it, Saprissa have a coueel of quick players who may be dangerous on the counter attack and looked reasonably good in the air defensively. Not much to write home about though, we should breeze past them.

This would never happen ever. I dont think the fans could afford to follow their team all round the world for a whole season.

How old are you RMGalacticos?

I never said they were all gloryhunters.

But as you said, LFC and Man Utd attract large numbers of support, which is because of their successes over the decades. Success attracts support.

With LFC winning the Champions League, now was the best time to take advantage of that and go to Asia for this competition. No doubt the long established LFC fans in Asia will turn out.

Also, the gloryhunters will show up too, buying the shirts and the merchandise. Whether they stick with the club doesn't matter, but after the CL win, now is the time to take advantage of fickle fans, because as the years go by, Chelsea are definately going to do it too.

That kind of "support" isn't great, admittedly, but it is a source of revenue that LFC will exploit, and rightly so.

Its true they are all gloary hunter in Asia. They support whoever is winning and is the best at that moment in time.

The facts speak for themselves. David Beckham was sold to RM for £25M. His numbered shirt came out in Asia before it did in Madrd !!!!! And the entire £25M was recouped within 3 weeks on just his shirt sales. It was the same when Utd were winning eveything. Teh Asians were going mad. Just face it. If you want to make money you need to market your idea in a place where the demand for different clubs (ie: clubs who are winning ) differs at each time allowing differnt clubs a shared success.

In short:

Glory hunters

You'll get picked up on that bavlondon. Unfortunately many countries other than England who follwo the Englis leagues have a lrage majority of fans who support the team who is winning i.e. glory hunters. However their are a lot of dedicated fans in these countries who don't enjoy getting tarred with the same brush.

To say ALL are glory hunters is utter rubbish.

Funny. My yankee cousin gets my yankee auntie to get him a footie shirt when she comes to visit us. First Liverpool, then Man utd and then ARSEnal. Will not be surprised if he either asks for the liverpool kit again or the chelsea one.

So there it is Liverpool v Deportivo Saprissa in the semi

Sydney FC 0-1 Deportivo Saprissa

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/4520360.stm

Sydney's Mark Rudan and Deportivo Saprissa's Randall Azofeifa challenge for the ball
Sydney battled hard but lacked their opponents' experience
Deportivo Saprissa will face Liverpool in the semi-finals of the World Club Championship after Cristian Bolanos' 47th-minute strike saw off Sydney FC.

The winger controlled a long ball on his chest and guided the ball past Sydney keeper Clint Bolton.

The Costa Ricans were marginally better throughout against hard-working Sydney, who were captained by ex-Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke.

Alvin Ceccoli was sent off late on for a challenge on Saprissa's keeper.

The last four are now finalised, with Saprissa playing Liverpool in Yokohama on Thursday and Sao Paulo facing Asian champions Al Ittihad in Tokyo on Wednesday.

-----------

Lets be honest though either team would of been a push over, it does say alot when Sydney FC are in a Wold Club championship! I reckon even Sunderland could beat them :D

Ok what was the streakers name?

LOL I remember the game...but not of this incident..I'm not very sure, but I think that our defender, Alex, received red card in this game.

are Al-Ittihad  any good?

I watched the game between Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahly.

more money always better, and football is huge in Asia...wonder why our moneyman Rick Perry didn't take advantage of the LFC brand into Asia in a big way like Manure, Real or even Chelsea?

I'll take it that you've never been to Asia or understand it's culture, so I'll ignore your ignorance and take it that you just talk out of your @SS :bump
