I do know it has come at the absolute worst time possible, just when we are starting to look like a serious football team for the first time in ages. Total and absolute waste of time for me.

Do you really think that it´s not important to be the World Champion ????

You all talk like Europe has the best teams, and they cannot be compared with the others.  But what would be Europe without the brazilian players?? We have the best players and the best clubs too! If São Paulo FC, Palmeiras, Cruzeiro, Santos, Fluminense, Internacional, Grêmio were in Champions League , we probably would win it. I will not talk about corinthians because they are like chelsea... have a lot of money that comes from russian hands....

I think u don´t know who is Mineiro, Josué, Lugano, Cicinho, Amoroso, Grafite .... so you´ll see them on december 18th and after that : "ooOOOOOOOOOH , new brazilian talent.... let´s buy them!"

See you ......... and in 2006 - Brasil 6 STARS

It's a meaningless cup. Our league is far important than some cup that's half-way around the world. We still have the FA Cup and the Champions League to play in.

You just talk as England was the best concerning football. São Paulo FC is a brazilian team and just because of that, deserves all kinds of respect. There are not Ronaldos and Kakás playing for our teams, but there are other Brazilian players which would play in any Arsenals, MUs or Liverpools if they were more famous.

And Premier League is more important than World Club Championship? If you win Premier League, only Europeans and other addicted football fans around the the world will take notice of that. If you win World Club Championship, it will be showed in all "Sports news" all over the world. There's a huge difference.

If Liverpool is so superior, why don't it prove it playing football? Way better that keep saying "it doesn't mean nothing because we are the best anyway".

Manu won the intercontinental cup 1999

The first world club championship was won by Corinthians 2000.

According to FIFA, all Intercontinental winners are World Champions.

In 2000, Boca Juniors was World Champion...Corinthians just won a bizarre competition and had to be invited to join in.

World Club Championship starts on Saturday with the match between Al-Ahly (Africa) x Al-Ittihad (Asia). The winner will have to beat São Paulo if it wants to be World Champions. On Sunday, the winner between Saprissa (Central America) x Sydney (Oceania) will play against Liverpool.

The competition is a joke, but we are in it, so we need to take it seriously and win it.

Plus, it's good for the club since it allows us to spread the "Liverpool FC" brand identity into the Asian market, which admittedly tends to be a glory hunting market (they'll all be Chelsea fans next year).

But hey as long as they spend money and contribute to the finances of the club, I'm all for it.

Not true. You're saying how Asian football fans are ALL glory hunters. That's disgraceful. We have a whole diversity of fans here by the way. So don't give me sh!t on how I'm an Asian and I'm a glory hunter.

Actually I was referring to the Asian MARKETS, meaning Japan, Korea, Thailand etc....

I also said it "tends" to be a glory hunting market and all (meaning the glory hunters) of them will support Chelsea next year.

Meaning that the most successful clubs will attract the biggest support from that market.

That's why the big clubs go on tours in that region of the world.

For no reason other than marketing.

everywhere across Asia, the majority of the football fans supports either Liverpool or ManUre. Who cares if Chelsea will get those "glory hunters"...those are not football fans :no But to categorise football fans in Asia as "glory hunters" are just showing your ignorance. There are more football matches being shown here live on TV than there are in UK, and that is what's needed (playing good fottball) to spread the fan base there and put more £££ into English football

This competition is of limited importance to me.

If Hyypia or Carragher got injured then I think it will have been not worth it.
