There were so many critics made against Crouch including myself. With that Crouch tried over and over and over in Betis match. I respected him for that. Remember how Gerrrad helped Crouch over and over again and people cheered and applauded his exit. Thats the supportive type, the second kind.

Now his hard work is paying off. Had there been no critics, I bet Crouch will slouch.

Kewell is slouching. He is nesting in comfort in Anfield. Some players tend to do that until they are under pressure. From my eyes, he has failed to prove that he is at least trying to improve.  He is putting on a show.

Special Reply :
Leonmac 0708, D zad  & Aussiekopite are certainly judging prejudicially.Nothing solid to defend Kewell except injuries. Caragher came back from a broken leg and see his first match when he returned. What u have to say for that.? Kewell's injury is worst that Carraghers?

He has some problems mentally. He thinks he is safe at Anfield because he can play right and left and as a centre forward. He thinks he is good in all positions. He is not?

Did anyone watch his corner kicks? He doesn't have to run a good 10 yard to kick the ball. He is just kicking the ball to the D box from an idle position. Look how poor the crosses were in Wigan's game and Sunderland's game.

You have to rate Kewell's  overall performance in Liverpool. I dont give a :censored: if he is good in his national team. That can be bragged in other websites... no in Liverpool Fan Club

Unfair of you people to comment on Sisoko. Sisoko has been outstanding all along. He got a 2 yellow cards so what. He plays and wins and tackles. Ok.. some foolish ones. It s nothing compared to Kewell's attitude problem. At least Sisoko plays all out. We need someone like him there.
But certainly Rafa has been blowing the trumpet for Kewell. A manager does that for two reason:
1. To claim that the player he had purchased is potential
or
2. To promote a player to increase his price prior to a sale.

Kewell was not his purchase. I certainly think its a marketing move.???

Verbal diarrhoea me thinks... :;):

if kewell was going to be sold he would have been sold in the summer!! Rafa likes him as a player so he will be staying, i hope he does because he can play well and since coming back from injury has looked a lot better.

I thought he played well on saturday, he really p1ssed that Chimbonda fella off :D
Im made up he is looking more like the Harry Kewell from two seasons ago, imagine when we get this Simao fella on the right and Harry on the left  :buttrock
El Morro and Crouch banging them crosses in
On saturday you got the feeling what we will be playing like in the future, superb.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kewell did OK on saturday. But to be honest he did no more than what I expect from a LFC player. Maybe he played a bit better than she sh!t he has been producing the last couple of years but I still want much more from a winger than that. At lest a couple of quality crosses per game and some good honest hard work. He has still a lot to prove and a long way to go befor he deserves to be called a liverpool player.

It's harder to tell watching on the box and i only get to go the game a few times a season but i don't see Kewell as this lazy cissy that he seems to have been labelled as by so many fans. I see a player struggling for fitness and confidence caught between trying to beat his man or play the simple pass and I see a player scared of trying to do what used to come so naturally for fear of being booed fans in the stands. Kewell's season last year was pretty much washed out by injury but i recall watching him several times and being impressed by his effort and workrate. He wasn't doing so well with the ball at his feet but he was doing all the ugly stuff, tracking back, putting in tackles and winning headers. He was getting called lazy at this time also.

If Harry was ugly, wore black boots, cut his hair, didn't have his house on MTV Cribs and was married to someone who wasn't on 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!' would he get as much stick?

I'm not saying he has been our best player or anything dumb like that but do feel he gets a hard time from the fans.

This has been done to death but i will give my view again.

Kewell has had a poor time at Liverpool...near disastrous if i am honest.
Part his fault due to his poor attitude, but also due to some bad injuries, which are obviously not his fault.

Hobbes the comparison you made with Carragher having a bad injury and coming back so well imo is b@llocks.

Carraghers game is all about passion and commitment, Kewells is about skill, touch movement and pace.
It takes a lot longer to get these back after an injury never mind after being out so long.

I think if he could rafa would get rid of Harry anyway, but the wages he is on he would be hard to get rid of and would not bring much in.

I think the club should carry on getting behind the lad, as he has shown some improvements and at least there are signs he is on the way back.

I think you explained it quite well there, the reason why the fans don't back Kewell as much as when he first arrived is as you put it "due to his poor attitude", thats why we don't sing his name anymore, etc as the lad never busts a gut, chase lost causes, etc.  :(

Kewell was no where near the best player on the pitch against wigan but his performances are improving. i feel if we keep playing him is confidence will improve. If anyone noticed, most of his passing were to players who were right next to him. These were on occasions in which he could have either of ran with the ball and attempt to cut through the defence himself or gone for the more enterprising pass (longer than 10 yards in which he only seemed to do).

I just feel that this was down to confidence. His ball control was good but i think his confidence will need to improve before he will try to make some critical passes or frequent runs into the box (i think he made one).

Signs are looking good for Harry, however, the only way we can build on this is to play him again and again.Next stop Chavski.

He is also a victim of such high expectations imo.

When he was signed i was as excited as i can remember about any signing, he was class for Leeds and at the time we were solid at the back...but just lacking a bit of creativity.

Many thought he would walk into the side and give us that element of the unpredictable the likes of Giggs gives united and Pires gives Arsenal.

He started ok, nothing too spectacular but scored a few goals and i was pretty pleased waiting for the next stage.

Unfortunately that stage hasnt arised, due mainly to injuries.

I am hopeful that he will still live up to the expectations i had of him, but not expectant.

But while he wears the LFC shirt i will back him and support him.

I can see where the fans that have had enough are coming from, nobody deserves total backing if they are not performing.

But like Murphy said in a previous reply....some fans are just waiting for something to go wrong...a poor pass or cross and jumping on it straight away, that will help nobody.
