I know everyone is sick of hearing about jan., and I haven't really posted anything before, but I promise not to recommend that we buy Shevchenko.... I just think that if we make smart decisions and spend the money we need to to bring in quality in january, that the squad could really become one to reckon with: Something like:
Morientes
Garcia
Kewell/gonzales simao/joaquin
Alonso Gerrard
Riise l. King?? Carra Finnan

You might not agree with everyone, substitute cisse for moro, sissoko for garcia, etc., but you would have to agree that this is a team you'd take against most anybody. I think this is a very important time, and that the squad could become very very strong with lots of creativity going forward. What do you think? Are there other weaknesses in the team that I don't see from the other side of the ocean? What are the chances of this kind of money being spent?

i just dnt understand y we dnt go out and buy all ov them and more, am sure ull all agree we will be a better team for it.

sum 1 needs to put a stop to these threds
one poppin up every other day.

oh i and beckham wudnt cost that much

this really is getting done to death and i don't know why every new idea on the subject seems to warrant a new thread. however having said that, i also think the team you outline is pretty appealing, even though gonzalez won't be available until the new season.

Is the equivalent of buying;
ronaldo, deco, rohnaldinho, check (Cech?), lampard, joe cole, smao and Beckham?

You don't make your point very well. I guess you think this should have been posted on an existing thread? If so, just ignore it.

I just wanted to see if people thought there was any chance of this kind of money being spent and if so, if a couple of purchases would really make the team as solid as it appears to me. I tried to at least discuss relatively realistic purchases, but of course someone has to throw beckham, ronaldinho, etc.. back at me. Its pretty easy to ignore a thread if you think its pointless, instead of making pointless responses.

the only chance we'll get of signing those players you want are if mr kraft and his family get on board there's just not that type of cash in the bank to get them all. we would probably be able to buy one of them possibly two don't think we've got the money to bid for king tho

would it cost around 40 m to get king and joaquin or simao? I feel like if we get the players onboard ahead of time, by getting them to say they'll only play for us etc.., then it could be a lot closer to 30 m which isn't far from what we could spend I imagine. I think we could be deadly as King's speed would allow us to play much further up the pitch. I know thats a lot of money but I see jan as a critical juncture, maybe parry/the board/rafa do to?

I heard we're in the hunt for some CB from Consethesias (I think thats what they're called!). Apparantly we tried to sign him in August. I'll try and find some more info on the lad.
